Job Title: Summer Intern - Engineering /Operations

Location: Houston, Texas

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Internship Overview:

The Engineering/Operations intern will focus on process improvement and equipment design within the repair and production department.

Responsibilities:




  • Conduct time studies of repair and production activities, analyzing labor metrics to identify areas for efficiency improvements





  • Summarize findings and provide recommendations for process enhancements, potentially developing an action plan for implementation





  • Assist in designing, sourcing, and building a new valve tester, based on an existing prototype





  • Develop a Bill of Materials (BOM) and ensure all necessary components are sourced for the valve tester





  • Participate in testing and validation of the valve tester to ensure functionality and reliability





  • Collaborate with engineers, technicians, and production staff to support project execution





  • Document findings, recommendations, and results in a structured format for internal review




Qualifications:




  • Currently pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field from an accredited university





  • Must be at least 18 years of age





  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills





  • Familiarity with CAD software (Solid Edge or SolidWorks) for design work





  • Basic knowledge of mechanical components and testing equipment





  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)





  • Hands-on mechanical aptitude and ability to work in a production environment
