Job Title: Summer Intern - Engineering /Operations Location: Houston, Texas FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Internship Overview: The Engineering/Operations intern will focus on process improvement and equipment design within the repair and production department. Responsibilities: Conduct time studies of repair and production activities, analyzing labor metrics to identify areas for efficiency improvements Summarize findings and provide recommendations for process enhancements, potentially developing an action plan for implementation Assist in designing, sourcing, and building a new valve tester, based on an existing prototype Develop a Bill of Materials (BOM) and ensure all necessary components are sourced for the valve tester Participate in testing and validation of the valve tester to ensure functionality and reliability Collaborate with engineers, technicians, and production staff to support project execution Document findings, recommendations, and results in a structured format for internal review Qualifications: Currently pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field from an accredited university Must be at least 18 years of age Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Familiarity with CAD software (Solid Edge or SolidWorks) for design work Basic knowledge of mechanical components and testing equipment Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) Hands-on mechanical aptitude and ability to work in a production environment What We Offer: Hands-on experience in process optimization and mechanical design Exposure to real-world manufacturing and production challenges Mentorship from experienced engineers and operations professionals Professional development and potential future employment consideration Diverse by nature and inclusive by choice Bright ideas come from all of us.
