COMSEC Security Specialist Arlington, VA Pay From: $105,000 per year MUST: COMSEC Security Specialist TS/SCI Minimum one cert: CISSP, Security+, GIAC, Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), or Certified Protection Professional (CPP)). Preferred Experience with Special Access Programs (SAP), Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI), or other high-security programs. Required experience: A minimum of 5 years of experience in classified security management, program protection, or related fields, particularly within government or defense sectors. Required Extensive knowledge of NSA and DoD COMSEC policies, procedures, and technologies. Required Experience with key management infrastructure and cryptographic systems. Required Proficiency in COMSEC accounting practices and inventory control procedures. Required Demonstrated expertise in EKMS, KMI, or other key management systems. Required Comprehensive understanding of classified information handling requirements. Required Strong technical documentation and reporting skills. Desired Experience and Skills: Experience with tactical communications systems security. Knowledge of emerging encryption technologies and security protocols. Familiarity with risk management frameworks (NIST, RMF). Experience with JWICS, SIPRNET, and NIPRNET environments. Bachelor's degree in security management, information security, or a related field. preferred otherwise need the COMSEC Relevant certifications DUTIES: COMSEC Specialist your responsibilities will include: Managing and implementing communications security protocols across enterprise systems and networks. Conducting regular security assessments and audits of COMSEC equipment, facilities, and procedures. Generating, distributing, and accounting for cryptographic materials and keying information. Performing incident response for COMSEC violations and implementing corrective actions. Maintaining comprehensive COMSEC account management including inventory control of classified equipment. Developing and delivering training on COMSEC policies, procedures, and best practices. Collaborating with information security teams to ensure integration of COMSEC requirements with broader cybersecurity initiatives.
