Assistant Facility Manager Triumvirate Environmental, one of the largest environmental services firms in North America, is seeking an Assistant Facility Manager for our Lowellteam. The Assistant Facilities Manager will be responsible for maintaining regulatory compliance, outbound and inbound shipment coordination, and ensuring a safe work environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills, with a proficient understanding of hazardous waste management practices. This position reports to Facility Manager. This role is onsite and is based in Lowell, MA. Responsibilities:
- Facility Operations: Oversee day-to-day operations at the TSDF facility, ensuring the proper treatment, storage, and disposal of hazardous waste in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations (e.g., EPA, OSHA, RCRA).
- Outbound & Inbound Shipments: Overseeing 50R shipments, Fernicola and Plastics trailers, coordinating trailer swaps with the PA office, and handling paperwork. In addition, serve as the liaison for Lowell TEI and other team drivers, ensuring smooth operations, compliance, and timely departure of trailers.
- Fleet Management: Ensure any trailer located in Lowell has up-to-date permits and is within its maintenance schedule.
- Compliance & Regulatory Reporting: Ensure that all hazardous waste activities are compliant with environmental regulations. Maintain accurate records of waste materials, including manifests, logs, and disposal documentation.
- Safety & Risk Management: Implement and enforce safety protocols to ensure the safety of employees, contractors, and the surrounding community.
- Emergency Response: Act as a key coordinator for emergency response activities in case of spills, leaks, or other hazardous material incidents, ensuring that appropriate actions are taken swiftly and in compliance with safety and regulatory guidelines. Additionally, fulfill in-house on-call duties as part of the Emergency Response team.
- Quality Control: Ensure that all materials are properly handled, and that waste treatment and disposal processes meet facility standards and regulatory requirements.
- Lowell Yard Management: Oversee the 50R trailers and hazmat trailers. In addition, manager property, including snow removal, fencing, and acting as a liaison with landlords and municipalities.
- Information Managment/Data Entry: Manage and update trailer spreadsheets, confirm and track trailers full or active status, and manage 50R trailer information and shipment paperwork.
Basic Requirements:
- BS/BA in Environmental Science, Occupational Health, Industrial Safety, or another related field.
- At least 3-5 years of experience in hazardous waste management, including work in a TSDF facility, with a deep understanding of regulatory requirements and waste management processes.
- Knowledge:
- In-depth knowledge of RCRA (Resource Conservation and Recovery Act), OSHA standards, EPA regulations, and other applicable laws related to hazardous waste management.
- Familiarity with waste treatment, storage, and disposal technologies and practices.
- Strong understanding of safety standards and emergency response protocols.
- Skills:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and industry-specific software for record-keeping and reporting.
- Ability to multitask and manage complex operations in a regulated environment.
- Must be eligible to work in the United States without future sponsorship.
- Must have a reliable form of transportation.
- Must be willing to consent to Motor Vehicle Record screening, criminal background check, pre-employment physical, and drug screen (inclusive of THC).
- Upon employment, you will be required to participate in a random drug screening program (inclusive of THC) as part of our company's commitment to maintaining a safe and healthy work environment.
- Must be able to lift 60 pounds on a regular basis.
- Ability to work overtime on a regular basis.
- Must be willing to work flexible hours within the work week (Monday through Friday).
- Must be able to report to designated office within 1 hour during Emergency Response rotating shifts.
- The Assistant Facility Manager frequently handles hazardous chemicals and biological waste and is responsible for putting on and taking off personal protective equipment. This role is considered safety sensitive.
Preferred Requirements:
- Prior relevant industry experience
- Active HAZWOPER 24- or 40-hour certification
