Materials & Process Lab Senior Associate needed for a contract role in Palm Bay, FL Job Description: Engineering Support qualified to evaluate and test polymers, adhesives, composite, and metals used in Aerospace and Defense programs and analyze the physical, chemical, mechanical, and thermal properties. Perform destructive and non-destructive techniques to test material properties with analytical methods. Interface with internal customers to assist in the evaluation and application of numerous materials and processes relevant to the technical activities Work in a hands-on laboratory environment involving hazardous chemicals and conditions where safety needs to be maintained using appropriate personal protective equipment and adherence to handling procedures. Generate reports of completed work for program/quality/design teams, management, and customers Essential Functions: Receive and analyze materials following all supplied detailed instructions and procedures Make observations and interpret findings Design and execute laboratory testing according to in-house procedures, Quality processes, and industry standards such as ASTM, ICP, and ISO Work with technicians and engineers to supply programs accurate results and recommendations Maintain and troubleshoot equipment and assist in ordering supplies Follow all safety guidelines Ability to plan and work on multiple projects at one time delivering results to required schedules Education and Experience: Requires practical knowledge of Materials and Process Engineering lab or similar background. Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. Graduate Degree or equivalent with 0 to 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 6 years of prior related experience. Employment Pre-requisites The following requirements must be met to be eligible for this position: successful completion of a background investigation, and drug urinalysis.
