ACT Peer Support Specialist

The Guidance Center (TGC) is the Community Mental Health Center for Leavenworth, Atchison, and Jefferson counties in Kansas. We provide top-notch care to all, regardless of financial status. Compensation and Benefits for ACT Peer Support Specialist:

• Competitive base hourly rate of $21.13 to $23.54 based on experience.
• Monday to Friday schedule from 9:00am-5:00pm, on-call rotation required.

Primary Responsibilities for ACT Peer Support Specialist:

• Empower consumers to make independent choices and play an active role in their treatment.
• Help consumers recognize and manage triggers that lead to functional impairments.
• Support consumers in setting personal recovery goals.
• Provide training and coaching on positive life management techniques.

Minimum Qualifications for ACT Peer Support Specialist:

EDUCATION:

Required:

• Minimum 18 years old with a high school diploma or equivalent.

Preferred:

• Some post-high school education in Human Services.

EXPERIENCE:

Required:

• Personal experience as a former primary consumer of behavioral healthcare services.
• No psychiatric hospital admissions for at least one year.
