Systems Planning Corporation (SPC), a subsidiary company of GAI Consultants, Inc. is seeking to hire an experienced Project Manager to be part of our Power Delivery Engineering business sector. The Project Manager is responsible for leading the successful delivery of scope, schedule, budget, and quality for assigned projects. This position will be focused primarily on supporting the large multi-disciplinary projects for the Power Delivery - Engineering Group. This is a temporary position working remotely on a variety of projects within Power Delivery. The initial duration is expected to last 6-12 months; however, this may be extended upon mutual agreement.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:



  • Oversees scope, schedule, budget, quality, safety and profitability of all projects managed under the direction of the client.
  • Leads project teams which may include engineering and field contractors.
  • Manages projects that are typically time-sensitive, unique and /or complex, of significant magnitude, scope, and difficulty.
  • Works closely with client to monitor and control project cost and billings to meet budget profit, to analyze project performance data on an on-going basis, and to develop recovery plans as needed.
  • May lead large project teams covering several disciplines with staff from more than one office and working in several locations
  • Reviews project documents for clarity and completeness
  • Monitors progress and provides periodic updates as required


Qualifications:



  • 10+ years of Project Management experience.
  • Experience working in the Substation sector.
  • Strong Communication skills (written and oral).
  • Demonstrated expertise in the development of project schedules, cost budgets and understanding and analysis of the financial data.
  • Ability to collaborate and communicate with and garner support from key stakeholders and staff.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical reports and procedures, and governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports and other business correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public.
  • Has in-depth understanding of project goals, drivers, strategies, risks, and opportunities.
  • Understands the company's businesses, competing projects, and profit impact of decisions.
  • Demonstrate in-depth understanding of software as needed to successfully perform the duties described here, including MS Office Suite applications and software, document management systems, database software, HR Systems, internet software, and reporting tools related to databases.
  • Work remotely with ability to travel to GAI and client office locations as needed. Travel requirement is estimated at up to 10%.
