Position Summary

The Director, People Experience (PE) role is a strategic business partner role for the North American (NAM) Protective Supply Chain (16 plants) and local PE for the Holyoke, MA location. The role helps to drive success in the network of plants by identifying and providing employee related strategies. In addition, this role supports and leads a team responsible for implementing and executing all tactical aspects of the PE function for the network of NAM plants. This role serves as part of the NAM Protective Leadership team to support the regional NAM PE team and the HR Centers of Excellence (COE) communities.

Job Description

The Director role identifies and provides strategic support including, but not limited to:



  • Strategic support of talent assessment, acquisition and development
  • Embed corporate Sealed Air people strategy and provide professional HR guidance to the NAM Supply Chain organization
  • As a member of the NAM People Leadership team, lead in the execution of the Sealed Air NAM HR Strategy and serve as liaison between the business, corporate HR, and the centers of excellence within the HR function
  • Identify, facilitate, and coordinate all strategic aspects of HR in NAM Protective Supply Chain, including, but not limited to, compensation, benefits, staffing, employee succession, employee development and learning, organization design and development, employee relations, engagement and performance management
  • Pro-active monitoring of bench strength and succession planning for key network leader roles
  • Partner with local and network leadership to drive engagement and culture change activities to improve results
  • Act as a close Business Partner to the Executive Director of Operations advising on the development of the NAM Supply Chain Organization and Team
  • Provide creative solutions to solve network challenges on overtime levels, turnover and job/pay structures
  • Measure and improve operational results through people related activities
  • Partner and support headquarters leadership as needed
  • Providing leadership, goal setting, coaching, and development for a team of approximately 10 PE professionals



The HR Director role supports, implements, and executes all tactical aspects of the HR function, including but not limited to:



  • Positive employee and labor relations (employee engagement, union avoidance, collective bargaining) for Supply Chain employees
  • Performance and talent management (employee development & job progression, annual review processes, termination processes, etc.) in partnership with local practices and applicable business processes
  • Regional project coordination around policies, processes and change management, in partnership with legal, PE team members and COE's
  • Total Rewards (compensation, benefits)
  • Talent Acquisition (recruiting, new hire on-boarding, orientation),
  • Talent Management (performance management & development)
  • Implementing employee merit based systems as applicable
  • Partner with TAG to oversee the process for hourly hires (recruiting, new hire on-boarding, orientation)
  • Learning & Organizational Capability (performance management, training delivery & design)
  • Diversity & Inclusion programs coordination
  • HRIS deployment, including management of local e-Time platform or other time management systems
  • Government & legislative compliance, internal investigations, good will initiatives
  • Direct and Indirect supervision of network of PE professionals (Regional Managers, Managers, Generalist)

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 10 plus years of HR Generalist work experience in a manufacturing environment, ideally supporting a multi-state network of sites.
  • 3 or more years of management experience
  • 3 to 5 years of HR experience leading high performance work teams in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong understanding of HR laws, principles and practices
  • Experience in a business partnering capacity
  • Strong ability to connect HR work to operational KPIs
  • Strong ability to leverage data to drive decisions and KPI improvements

Additional Qualifications

  • SPHR or similar certification preferred
  • Master's degree preferred
  • Leadership and ability to motivate and develop staff
  • Excellent technical/systems skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, PeopleSoft, e-Time, ADP, SAP)
  • Exceptional organizational skills
  • Ability to perform independently at a high level, self-directed, self-motivated
  • Experience with compensation and job leveling program redesign in a manufacturing environment
  • Experienced in leading organizational change initiatives, talent assessments and processes
  • Ability to travel approximately (15%) and future location mobility
  • Good influencing and relationship building skills
