Uses working knowledge of the business to provide HR support and guidance. Partners directly with site operational teams to define and execute HR strategies that align with business objectives and key initiatives. Analyzes trends and develops strategies to resolve HR issues and make a positive impact on business results. Leads organizational assessments that convert strategies into result-driven actions. Provides change-management support as needed. Acts as a liaison with other HR functions. Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Including but not limited to): * Implements HR initiatives that support Inland's goals, while driving a positive employee experience in partnership with operational leaders.This includes workforce planning, talent management, and succession planning to ensure that Inland has the right talent in place to meet its objectives. * Acts as an advisor to business functions, the role holder collaborates with business leaders to understand their people needs and challenges.This involves providing insights and recommendations on HR-related issues that impact business performance. * Oversees all station recruitment activities in line with business demands and requirements, including rehiring of candidates during peak periods. * Manages staffing approvals for assigned business units. * Raises offer letters and contracts of employment. * Implements change management strategies, communicating changes to employees, and ensuring that the workforce is engaged and supported throughout transitions. * Promotes a positive workplace culture and enhancing employee engagement are key responsibilities.Implements programs and initiatives that promote employee satisfaction, retention, and overall well-being. * Manages leaves of absence and accommodations. * Oversees employee engagement with site management. * Role holder may be assigned duties not directly related to the HR function during times of low activity to meet business demands elsewhere e.g. other stations, therefore flexibility is required. Required Skills and Experience: * Demonstrated understanding and application of HR related principles, practices, procedures, and employment legislation. * Proven ability to drive change and influence stakeholders at all levels. Able to work independently or in a team environment in a matrixed organization. * Seen as a trusted advisor with the ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders and decision makers. * Organized and self-motivated with the ability to build and maintain solid relationships, having the confidence to work as part of a team and on your own initiative. * Active listener as well as excellent persuader to advise Inland operations on changes they need to make; collaborates with operational management teams in applying firm and Human Resources functional knowledge, identifies and prioritizes current and future problems requiring solutions. * Communicates effectively and develops and delivers multi-mode communications that convey a clear understanding of the unique needs of different audiences. * Acts on people data to ensure confidentiality, completeness, accuracy and compliance with company policy and legislative requirements. * Sound judgment and problem-solving skills. * Patience and the ability to remain calm in stressful situations. * The ability to motivate and manage staff. * Professionalism and an overall positive attitude. * Ability to multi-task, adapt and operate at all levels when working under pressure. Qualification and Education: * Bachelor's degree or equivalent in business, human resources or related field is preferred (can also be complemented with 3+ years of experience at Inland, preferably in Human Resources). * Knowledge of laws and regulations as they apply to employee relations. * CPHR/SHRM designation considered an asset. |
