Brown and Caldwell (BC) is currently seeking a Growth Leader to support Integrated Project Delivery (IPD) operations in the Western U.S. This position must be knowledgeable about market trends, competitive dynamics, and BC's brand, understanding how these elements can present challenges or opportunities to achieve sales growth objectives. They will collaborate with Area Directors/Area Growth Leaders and the West Business Unit Growth Director to formulate and implement an IPD strategy that aligns with growth targets across all portfolios. Partnering with the IPD Enterprise team, the IPD Growth Leader will work to expand a profitable IPD portfolio that supports and adheres to the established processes and practices of the IPD Enterprise concerning risk, commercial strategies, and contractor negotiations.

Like a compass, the company strengths will guide the successful execution of this role - purposeful growth, responsible freedom, disciplined creativity, and deep connections. The growth leader is responsible for working with operational, technical, and growth leaders to maximize BC's potential to grow IPD sales and backlog.

Remote work is allowed. Ideally this position would be located near one of our Western US based offices in Los Angeles, Irvine, San Francisco, Seattle, Honolulu, Denver or Dallas.

Expectations and key responsibilities:



  • Develop, execute, and manage the annual IPD portfolio business plan in partnership with the Area Directors/Area Growth Leaders and IPD Enterprise - responsible for achieving performance metrics in alignment with Business Unit and Company growth objectives.
  • Serve as Client Service Manager and Sales Leader for top clients/pursuits. Improve win rates and support training of the sales teams by engaging directly with key clients and leading top pursuits.
  • Build and maintain connectivity with Client Service Managers and their respective markets - establish conduit for client, project, and competitor intel to inform positioning strategy.
  • Provide project leadership serving as Project Manager or Principal in Charge and ensure project outcomes meet operations objectives.
  • Partner with IPD Enterprise to enhance the quality and scope of BC's contractor connections.
  • Lead knowledge transfer between the Business Unit and IPD Enterprise on lessons learned, geographic market trends, and competitor intel.
  • In concert with the IPD Enterprise, co-lead the Business Unit IPD monthly calls with the goal of driving actionable outcomes that support positioning and maintain alignment with partners.
  • Foster talent growth/opportunities and advocate for integrating diverse staff into IPD projects.
  • Implement a partnership strategy with operations team - confirm resource deployment is in alignment with key client priorities.
  • Support IPD Enterprise by engaging in key opportunities to elevate BC's brand internally and externally.



    Desired Skills and Experience:



    • Degree in engineering or related field.
    • 15+ years' experience and recent delivery of collaborative delivery projects with major clients in engineering and construction.
    • Familiar with commercial constructs and a track record of formulating and executing sales and pursuit strategies, with a personal history of converting major pursuits to a win.
    • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to work in a highly collaborative group of internal stakeholders.
    • Existing links to the contractor market, along with a history of successful business advancement.
    • Design-Build Institute of America (DBIA) certified or committed to obtaining DBIA certification.
    • Strong leader, able to inspire, motivate and build cross-functional pursuit teams with the ability to influence the decision-making process.
    • Strategic, critical thinker with a willingness to challenge the status quo.
    • Ability to be decisive in decision-making - comfortable handling risk and uncertainty.
    • Ability to see market drivers that intersect with innovative solutions to creatively grow our core and key clients.
    • Background in relationship-based sales, win strategy, and proposal development for competitive opportunities.
    • Understand the political landscape and impact to client growth and business strategy.


    Salary Range: The anticipated starting pay range for this position is based on the employee's primary work location and may be more or less depending upon skills, experience, and education. These ranges may be modified in the future.

    Location A: $161,000 - 221,000

    Location B: $177,000 - 243,000

    Location C: $193,000 - 265,000
