Location: Madison, WI(Remote)

Position type: On call/Part time

Role & Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with OSCE (Office of Sustainability and Clean Energy) on a comprehensive short- and long-term outreach and communications strategy for the new Climate Pollution Reduction Grant program.
  • Collaborate with the Outreach and Engagement Specialist to identify stakeholder engagement activities for the duration of the grant period.
  • Conduct at least nine regional community-focused strategic planning meetings, in coordination with entities including but not limited to metropolitan statistical areas defined by the EPA, regional planning commissions, Tribal Nations, state agencies and local government jurisdictions, and non-governmental community organizations.
  • Summarize the results of strategic planning sessions into concise reports to incorporate into the Priority and Comprehensive Climate Action plans.
  • Assist with the organization of information for required reports. Work with coordinating entities to define measures and build metrics around prioritized strategies.
  • Plan, prepare, and recommend communications tools and tactics to reach target audiences.
  • The facilitator may work closely with OSCE staff to design and develop facilitation for WI CAN virtual and live meetings, community-based climate action data collection, and building and cultivating the WI CAN network.
  • The facilitator may work independently on qualitative analysis of outreach and engagement, maintenance of WI CAN website and LinkedIn group site, and to some extent, providing support to WI CAN members where appropriate.
  • Communication with OSCE staff is expected to be done via email, phone, or virtual meetings. In person collaboration is not expected unless at in person events. The OSCE does anticipate having an Outreach and Engagement Coordinator position filled to aid in this work, and the CPRG program also has a Technical Coordinator and Analyst.
