Job Description

We are looking for a Sr. Engineer to join our team!

In these positions you will work with large scale, state of the art machines and manufacturing equipment. You will work hands on to create procedures and solve problems to maximize efficiency and put your stamp on some of the most elegant large-scale buildings across the world.

Viracon is a leader in architectural glass. We are the largest single site glass fabricator in U.S. and one of the largest in the world. We offer over a million customizable options for customers unique specifications in the architectural glass industry.

Sr. Engineer Responsibilities:

  • Familiar with a variety of the fields concepts, practices and procedures. Responsible for design, development, implementation and analysis of new processes or products.
  • Relies on experience and judgement to plan and accomplish goals.
  • Performs a variety of complicated tasks.
  • Applies the use of continuous improvement methods and tools.
  • Leads multi-site efforts with departments and personnel for consistency and standardization as necessary.
  • Leads and directs the work of others.
  • Provides expert judgement and analysis for the design, development and implementation of new processes and products.
  • Maintains confidential and proprietary information in a professional manner. Serve as a technical resource for other departments.
  • Develop working relationships with our suppliers to stay informed of new materials and technologies.
  • Keep abreast of developments in materials, processes and equipment applicable to respective area.
  • Develops original solutions to problems Wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
  • Participate in Viracon's Continuous Improvement efforts by understanding his/her team's performance and actively implementing and supporting process improvements.
  • Works with limited supervision.
  • May report to a manager or department head.

Required Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in engineering or sciences strongly preferred with 5-8 years of field or related experience.
* A motivated, self-starter with the ability to work with minimal supervision.
* Problem solving and strong analytical skills a must.
* Ability to communicate with employees at all levels of the company.
* Ability to design, carry-out, and document tests.
* Training in Lean/Six Sigma methodologies desired, but not required.
* Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task.
* Regular attendance and good work ethic.
* Ability to take supervision and get along well with others.
* Safely perform essential job responsibilities.
* Ability to read, write and understand English.

Salary:

* $100,800 - $119,600 USD Annual
