The Office of Financial Aid strives to provide the highest quality service to undergraduate, graduate and professional students in pursuit of their academic goals. Our primary objective is to assist students and families in planning for and meeting expenses associated with attendance at the university. At our offices in Camden, Newark, New Brunswick, and Piscataway, we focus on establishing aid eligibility, awarding scholarships, grants, loans, and employment to eligible students as well as providing financial aid counseling to students and families. |

Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking an Assistant Manager of the Office of Financial Aid. The Office of Financial Aid provides the highest quality service to undergraduate, graduate, and professional students in pursuit of their academic goals. The office is committed to assisting students and families in planning for and meeting expenses associated with attendance at the university. The team strives to bridge the gap between the cost of education by providing equal opportunities and access to financial resources. The office empowers students through financial literacy resources to make informed decisions about managing finances and preparing for the future.
The Division of Enrollment Management at Rutgers University-New Brunswick (
EMNB) is comprised of eight student facing and administrative units: Undergraduate Admissions, Graduate Admissions, the Office of Financial Aid, the Office of the Registrar, and the One Stop Student Services Center, as well as business, information technology, and analytics administrative teams. The division employs over 120+ full-time staff and an additional 200+ student employees to fulfill
its mission. The division is driven by research, galvanized by progress, and motivated by a relentless commitment to student access and academic excellence. It works at the intersection of administration and innovation to set enrollment strategy, foster student success, and inform university policy and practice. EM-NB attracts the best and brightest students to Rutgers'
flagship campus, supports them through their time on the banks, and celebrates their graduation each year.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
- Ensures accurate and timely processing of applications for financial assistance in accordance with all federal, state, and institutional regulations and policies.
- Evaluates documents using verification procedures and constructs financial aid packages for applicants.
- Provides individual counseling to students and families on all aspects of the financial aid process including proper completion of application and other forms, loan options, budget planning, debt management and the overall awarding process.
- Answers students' questions and disseminates accurate information via one-on-one sessions, telephone and written communications.
- Serves as a representative of the university at various outreach activities such as high school nights, university open house, orientation, and financial aid workshops.
- Reviews Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) Plans to ensure students can rehabilitate their academic performance and monitor future academic performance against the plan.
- Provides SAP training, guidance, and updates to staff as needed.
- Runs various ad hoc SAP reports and collaborate with campus partners on early warning initiatives designed to target specific student populations in jeopardy of not meeting the academic standards to prevent loss of aid.

Qualifications
Minimum Education and Experience |
- A bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
- A minimum of five years' experience in student financial aid that demonstrates knowledge, understanding and competency administering federal financial assistance programs; and program counseling and outreach.

Preferred Qualifications |

Under Policy 100.3.1 Immunization Policy for Covered Individuals, if employment will commence during Flu Season, Rutgers University may require certain prospective employees to provide proof that they are vaccinated against Seasonal Influenza for the current Flu Season, unless the University has granted the individual a medical or religious exemption.
