Job Summary:

The Theatre Middle School Coordinator partners with the Artistic Director at Divine Savior Holy Angels (DSHA) High School to assist in the coordination of the summer theatre program by overseeing middle school participants.

Salary Range:

$14 per hour

Job Start Date:

May 12, 2025 - July 17, 2025

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Include the Following:

  • Audition Assistant: Responsible for supervision of middle school students during audition times and call backs.
  • Assists costume designer in measuring actors, organizing costumes and dressing rooms for middle school students.
  • Rehearsal Assistant: Responsible for supervision of middle school students during scheduled rehearsal times and scheduled breaks. Responsible for learning songs and choreography to assist with student reviews. Responsible for supervising students during all scheduled breaks and planning activities for down time.
  • Middle School Contact: Serves as primary contact for middle school families for daily check-in and out of all cast members, collection of any additional forms and fees.
  • Technical Supervision: Responsible for supervising Middle School students during technical rehearsals.
  • Pre-Performance Supervision: Ensures middle school students are in required makeup and costumes, warmed-up, and ready for their first scene.
  • Performance Supervision: Responsible for middle school supervision during performance times, ensuring all middle school actors are in place for their scenes.
  • Strike Supervision: Responsible for assisting with supervision during the show strike times. Supervises middle school students during the scheduled middle school strike time.
  • Assists the Theatre Director and Production Coordinator with clerical work as needed.
  • Completes other duties as required.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Supervises middle school students.

Qualifications:

Education and/or Experience:

The position requires a high school diploma or GED.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Must have experience in musical theatre performance and education. Effective oral and written communications are essential. Analytical and organizational skills are necessary. The ability to work with frequent interruptions and deadlines is required. The ability to work effectively with diverse populations is required. Intermediate PC skills to include MS Office Excel and Word are necessary.

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit; talk or hear; and use hands to finger, handle, or touch objects or controls. The employee is regularly required to stand and walk. Frequently, the incumbent may be required to stoop, bend or reach above the shoulders. The employee must occasionally lift up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment:

The work takes place in primarily a theatre/school environment.
