General Notes

The Office of Information Technology at the Dell Medical School is seeking an Epic Interface Analyst II. This position follows a hybrid work model, requiring periodic on-site attendance as determined by organizational needs.

Purpose

The Epic Interface Analyst II is responsible for the development, implementation, and maintenance of interfaces between Epic Systems and other healthcare applications. Reporting to the Manager of Integrations, this role collaborates closely with clinical staff, IT teams, and external vendors to ensure seamless data integration and workflow optimization. Key responsibilities include analyzing business requirements, designing interface solutions, and troubleshooting issues. Peer roles include Epic Analyst I and Epic Interface Analyst III.

Responsibilities

Interface Development and Maintenance

  • Designs and develops interfaces between Epic and other systems.

  • Tests and validates interface functionality.

  • Troubleshoots and resolves interface-related issues.

Business Requirements Analysis

  • Gathers and documents business requirements.

  • Translates requirements into technical specifications.

  • Collaborates with stakeholders to refine requirements.

System Testing and Validation

  • Conducts end-to-end testing of interfaces.

  • Develops and executes test plans.

  • Ensures compliance with regulatory standards.

User Support and Training

  • Provides technical support to end-users.

  • Conducts training sessions on interface usage.

  • Develops user manuals and documentation.

Project Management

  • Manages interface-related projects.

  • Coordinates with cross-functional teams.

  • Tracks project progress and reports status

Marginal or Periodic Functions

System Upgrades

  • Assists with software upgrades and patches.

  • Tests new functionality and features.

Vendor Coordination

  • Liaises with vendors for interface-related issues.

  • Coordinates vendor support and maintenance.

Data Analysis

  • Analyzes data flow and integration points.

  • Recommends improvements to data processes.

  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

  • 3 years of relevant experience in interface development and healthcare IT.

  • Epic certification in Interface Development.

Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

  • 5 years of relevant experience in interface development and healthcare IT.

  • Experience with Epic Systems and healthcare applications.

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.

Salary Range

$70,740+ depending on qualifications
