The Opportunity

As a leader in the energy industry, we're harnessing the power of AI and cloud-native technologies to optimize operations, enhance safety, and drive smarter decision-making. We are looking for a Senior Application Developer who brings deep technical expertise in AI and AWS development, combined with strong business analysis skills to support our digital transformation initiatives.

In this role, you will be responsible for designing and implementing intelligent digital solutions that transform operational data into actionable insights. You'll work closely with Safety & Technical Services, Commercial Operations, and Information Services to understand challenges and deliver scalable AI-driven solutions hosted in AWS. Your ability to translate complex business needs into technical solutions will be critical to advancing our strategic goals in pipeline safety, maintenance, and asset performance.

What you'll do

  • Architect and develop AI-enabled applications tailored to pipeline and energy operations

  • Create generative AI solutions that enhance operational efficiencies and provide innovative insights

  • Lead the design and deployment of cloud-native solutions in AWS, integrating real-time data streams, sensor data, and predictive analytics

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to analyze business processes and identify opportunities for automation and AI-driven decision support

  • Develop and maintain robust APIs, backend services, and data pipelines supporting AI/ML workflows

  • Guide junior developers and work in cross-functional teams to ensure successful project delivery

  • Implement DevOps practices to enable continuous integration, testing, and deployment

  • Ensure all solutions meet compliance and cybersecurity requirements typical of the energy industry.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 10+ years of professional experience in software/application development

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to influence senior leaders

  • Extensive experience developing and deploying applications in AWS (e.g., Lambda, S3, SageMaker, Bedrock, Postgres PG vector databases and other AWS database service

  • Proven experience with AI/ML implementation in a production environment, ideally in industrial or IoT settings

  • Solid background in Python, Angular, React, or similar languages with integration of machine learning models

  • Strong experience as a business analyst, including gathering requirements, stakeholder communication, and solution design

  • Familiarity with pipeline or industrial data sources such as SCADA systems, IoT sensors, or GIS data

  • Strong understanding of system architecture, RESTful APIs, and cloud-native development practices.

Preferred Qualifications

  • AWS Certifications (e.g., Solutions Architect, Machine Learning Specialty)

  • Experience leveraging the capabilities of the Microsoft Power Platform to drive business solutions

  • Experience working in the energy, oil & gas, or infrastructure sectors

  • Familiarity with regulatory and compliance frameworks in the energy industry.
