We are looking for a Senior Frontend Engineer who will play a critical role in transforming our web application with modern approaches like Progressive Web Apps (PWA). You will be part of an engineering team pushing the boundaries of web technology to create exceptional user experiences that combine performance, reliability, and engaging features.


Responsibilities:

  • Develop, test, and document JavaScript-based business-critical web features with a focus on implementing PWA capabilities
  • Work with Product Owners and Product Managers to understand feature requirements, gather technical requirements, and develop new features in our web applications
  • Work independently and mentor junior engineers on your team
  • Own applications or libraries, and define and deliver evaluation criteria for testability, scalability, and performance
  • Passionate about Quality and strives to improve processes, proposes standard methodologies and drives their usage within the teams
  • Write unit tests and component tests for features with key characteristics of stability and maintainability which prevent regressions in the product code
  • Work quickly and effectively in a fast-paced ever-evolving environment
  • Work with other team members by reviewing and giving feedback on pull requests and design plans
  • Drive innovation through implementation of modern web technologies like PWAs, offline capabilities, and performance optimization techniques


Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or at least three years of proven experience in lieu of a degree
  • Excellent programming skills in JavaScript/TypeScript and modern frontend frameworks like React
  • Experience with state management solutions such as Redux, Context API, or Zustand
  • Strong understanding of PWA architecture and implementation (service workers, offline capabilities, installability)
  • Experience with modern build tools like Webpack, Vite, or NX
  • Proficiency in responsive design and CSS methodologies (CSS Modules, Styled Components, Tailwind)
  • Experience optimizing web applications for performance across devices
  • Knowledge of frontend testing frameworks such as Jest, React Testing Library, or Cypress
  • Experience with RESTful APIs and/or GraphQL
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and deployment strategies
  • A sense of ownership and pride in your work
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams
  • 8+ years of professional experience building complex web applications
  • Experience mentoring junior engineers and providing technical leadership


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Next.js, Remix, or similar meta-frameworks
  • Knowledge of web accessibility standards and implementation
  • Experience with web analytics and performance monitoring tools
  • Background in UX/UI design or close collaboration with design teams
  • Experience with cross-platform development using React Native or similar technologies
  • Contributions to open-source projects or technical blogs
  • Experience leading frontend architecture decisions at a company-wide level

At SIE, we consider several factors when setting each role's base pay range, including the competitive benchmarking data for the market and geographic location.

Please note that the base pay range may vary in line with our hybrid working policy and individual base pay will be determined based on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location.

In addition, this role

The estimated base pay range for this role is listed below.
$187,700 $281,500 USD
