Overview
The Director of Cloud Infrastructure and IT Operations will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of Tactile Medical's infrastructure, including the IT Help Desk, desktop services, hybrid cloud computing, cloud engineering, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), cloud governance, legacy infrastructure, and cloud migration/modernization initiatives. This role plays a vital part in developing and executing an enterprise-wide technology strategy that delivers business value in a flexible, agile, and innovative manner. The appointed leader will bring experiential knowledge and a vision for transforming the Infrastructure & Operations (I&O) function, encompassing its strategy, operating model, product and service offerings, and workforce. As a core member of the IT leadership team, this role contributes to the development and execution of the enterprise-wide IT strategy and ensures that the IT operational strategy aligns effectively, positioning technology to deliver compelling business value
Responsibilities
- Lead the cloud strategy, ensuring a robust, scalable, and secure infrastructure supporting cutting-edge technology centered around leading-edge cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure, Salesforce, ServiceNow, Boomi, OKTA, NetSuite, Nice CxOne, and UKG.
- Oversee legacy co-location facilities and infrastructure teams (Desktop, Server, Storage and Networking --- including Security/Firewall), manage the transition of Systems, Network, and Storage teams to cloud-enabled teams, and fostering a culture of innovation and continuous learning.
- Spearhead efforts to modernize infrastructure for self-service capabilities, DevOps enablement, and infrastructure-as-code; empower teams to transition to cloud technologies and drive the expansion of new cloud capabilities.
- Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continual service improvement to enhance IT infrastructure and operations efficiency through emerging technology, experimentation, Agile, DevOps, platform, and product approaches.
- Collaborate with the IT leadership team to assess current and long-term infrastructure, cloud operations, and developer productivity needs; develop a comprehensive strategy and long-term roadmap centered on automation and infrastructure-as-code.
- Modernize infrastructure practices to enable self-service capabilities and streamline IT operations.
- Guide the development and implementation of cloud-based applications and services, promoting the use of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools and DevOps practices.
- Monitor and manage cloud infrastructure for optimal performance, availability, and cost-efficiency; implement cost-saving measures.
- Support Information Security with security audits, vulnerability assessments, and disaster recovery/business continuity plans; enforce robust security measures to protect cloud infrastructure and ensure compliance with relevant regulatory and industry standards (e.g., HIPAA, PCI-DSS, SOC 2).
- Design and implement CI/CD pipelines focusing on cost, security, quality, uptime, and reliability.
- Identify technical concerns and problems, assess them, and provide prompt solutions and/or escalation.
- Monitor and manage application performance and service quality, including initial troubleshooting, root cause identification, and issue resolution.
- Establish execution plans, manage risks, and oversee solution delivery.
- Ensure all changes comply with the defined change control process and proper approvals are documented.
- Provide clear and timely updates to senior management, escalate issues, and ensure adherence to change control processes.
- Provide leadership, vision, and direction for staff within the DevSecOps and QA teams.
- Embrace continuous improvement by documenting and refining cloud/DevOps practices and facilitating team member onboarding and training.
- Offer technical guidance on best practices, code reviews, design communication, and adherence to requirements.
- Enhance our 24x7 on-call strategy for all essential services.
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science, engineering, information technology/systems, mathematics, a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- 10 years of progressive experience in cloud infrastructure and/or software development.
- 5+ years of direct experience leading and managing infrastructure and DevOps teams or hands-on direct experience running a production environment.
- Preferred certifications: CISSP, ITIL/ITSM, PMI, Cloud (Azure, AWS)
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
Skills & Experience
- Strong knowledge of cloud infrastructure and software development methodologies, tools, and practices, including Agile, Scrum, CI/CD, version control systems (e.g., Git), infrastructure automation and containers (ex., Kubernetes, Puppet) and software quality assurance (SQA & QA/Test).
- Extensive experiential knowledge and hands-on experience with Azure Cloud Technologies.
- Experience with Azure DevOps for Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
- Experience with cloud platforms: Salesforce (Sales & Marketing Clouds), Oracle NetSuite, ServiceNow, PagerDuty, Nice CxOne, VMware, and others.
- Working knowledge of Application Performance Management and Observability tools like Dynatrace, AppSense, DataDog, etc.
- Expertise in cloud computing, IaC, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and configuration management tools (Ansible, Terraform).
- Familiarity with SSO platforms (OKTA) and protocols (SAML, OAUTH2), Active Directory, LDAP.
- Proficient in installing, configuring, and administering: Terraform, Jenkins, NodeJS, Docker, ElasticSearch, MySQL, Prometheus.
- Experience with desktop automation and zero-touch installation.
- Proven leadership and team-building skills fostering innovation and collaboration.
- Basic knowledge of database administration.
Below is the starting salary range for this position, although offers may differ based on the candidate's location, job-specific knowledge, skills and experience.
$132,900 - $199,290
