Job Title: Quality Inspector

Job Designation:
- The Quality Inspector 2 inspects a range of components, parts and/or products for the area assigned as prescribed by all applicable specifications and quality assurance instructions.
Role & Responsibilities:
- Conducts examinations and quality control inspections on products, materials and components at various stages of the production process to ensure compliance with established quality and reliability standards
- Performs visual inspections of soldered connections, mechanical inspections of electronic and electro-mechanical assemblies and subassemblies
- Visual inspections of soldered assemblies to IPC-A-610 Class 3 standards, and harness assemblies.
- Approximately 90% sitting and 10% standing/walking indoors.
- Perform continuous uninterrupted visual inspections, with and without magnifying devices.
- Use hand tools, measuring devices, and magnifying devices (e.g. gauges, calipers, rulers.)
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 25 lbs.
Physical Requirements:
- Approximately 90% sitting and 10% standing/walking indoors.
- Perform continuous uninterrupted visual inspections, with and without magnifying devices.
- Use hand tools, measuring devices, and magnifying devices (e.g. gauges, calipers, rulers.)
- Perform major hand grasping and fine finger manipulations using both hands.
- Perform repeated lifting from floor, table and shelf.
- Push and pull carts or mobile tables, loaded and unloaded.
- Minimal heavy lifting from floor or higher, bending, twisting, climbing, lifting arms above shoulders, kneeling
- Minimal exposure to excessive noise, hazardous chemicals, hazardous equipment, uneven walking surfaces
- Must be able to lift minimum of 25 lbs.
- Must have a visual acuity of 20/25 in at least one eye, either correct or uncorrected.
Required Education:
- A Secondary Certificate/High School Diploma or equivalent combination of relevant education and work experience that will allow successful performance of job expectations.
Required Experience:
- 2 - 5 years of relevant experience (Aerospace and Electronics environments preferred).
Required Skills:
- Ability to follow established job instructions and procedures with minimal supervision
- Able to apply a systematic QA approach while using existing procedures to solve a range of technical issues
- Skilled at measuring and using test equipment as prescribed by job assignment
- Must have intricate knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing, assembly drawings, parts lists, workmanship standards, standard inspection procedures, M.O.'s, wiring diagrams and be able to add tolerances using decimals, etc.
- Must be able to interpret and follow written and verbal instructions, including engineering drawings, charts, diagrams, and sketches
- Proficient computer skills
- Read written/printed specifications and drawings I have read and understand the job requirements, responsibilities and expectations set forth in the job
Certifications:
- Vocational training, apprenticeships or the equivalent experience in related fiel.
