Summary

Summary:
The Head Teacher role is responsible for the overall effective management of the early childhood classroom. This includes, but is not limited to, providing comprehensive, developmentally appropriate care and education for young children in cooperation with families, assistant teachers, and administrators.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

  1. Education/Certification: Associate's Degree in Early Childhood Education or closely related field required, or Child Development Associate (CDA)credential, or CDA equivalency as defined by NAEYC, or willingness to complete on of these credentials in specified period of time required. Current community/caregiver level CPR Certification and First Aide Certification or willingness to complete within 30 days of start date required.
  2. Experience: One year of teaching/caregiving experience in group childcare/preschool setting required. Experience with the Creative Curriculum and NAEYC Accreditation preferred. Must be at least 18 years of age.
  3. Additional Skills/Requirements Required: Must present original certification of approved DHHS fingerprinting background check.
  4. Additional Skills/Requirements Preferred: N/A
