Your Impact
Are you passionate about creating impactful events and fostering meaningful connections? As the Events & Ecosystem Engagement Manager, you will play a pivotal role in advancing the missions of the McKinsey Health Institute (MHI) and the McKinsey Global Institute (MGI).
You will be part of a global team dedicated to driving thought leadership and engagement with key audiences, helping shape the future of health and economic insights. This role is integral to our efforts to connect with stakeholders, amplify our message, and ensure our convenings are both strategic and impactful.
In this role, you will report to the MHI Head of Communications & Engagement and the MGI Communications Directors. You will work closely with institute directors, co-leaders, engagement and operations leads, and event teams to design and execute a world-class platform for events and ecosystem engagement. Your work will directly contribute to the institutes' goals of fostering collaboration, sharing knowledge, and driving meaningful conversations with top-priority audiences.
Your Growth
By joining our team, you will have the opportunity to shape how we engage with the world through events and partnerships. Your expertise will help ensure that our convenings-whether in-person or virtual-are not only well-organized but also strategically aligned with our mission. You will also play a critical role in amplifying the voices of our leaders, enabling them to make a lasting impact on social media and at global conferences.
  • You will lead the development of a strategic and organized pipeline of in-person and virtual events, including institute-led convenings, firm-wide events, and external engagements.
  • You will provide end-to-end support for McKinsey Health Institute (MHI) and McKinsey Global Institute (MGI) convenings, including marketing efforts, risk reviews and diligence, partnership agreements, attendee experience, and post-event follow-ups.
  • You will orchestrate robust bilateral engagement and media engagement during global events, ensuring seamless collaboration with partners, senior partners, and engagement directors.
  • You will advise event leads on best-in-class convening strategies and provide guidance on on-site engagement to maximize impact during conferences.
  • You will equip MHI and MGI leaders with tools to strategically amplify their presence on social media and prepare effectively for speaking engagements.
  • You will collaborate with institute teams to proactively pitch institute leaders to external convenors and manage knowledge partnerships to expand their reach and influence.
  • You will contribute your expertise to global engagement campaigns for MHI and MGI, ensuring alignment with overarching goals and objectives.
  • You will manage relationships with external vendors and select convening partners to ensure high-quality event execution and collaboration.
  • You will drive participation analysis, track event impact, and coordinate stakeholder follow-ups to measure success and inform future strategies.
  • You will create compelling digital assets after events to amplify key messages on social media and other communication platforms.
Your qualifications and skills
  • University degree and excellent academic record required; advanced degree preferred
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, and to facilitate collaboration across operations, communications, working teams and the McKinsey partnership
  • Ability to communicate complex ideas effectively to different audiences
  • Ability to communicate effectively - both verbally and in writing - in English as well as the local office language
  • Stellar project management skills and the ability to manage many moving pieces in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience working across teams and stakeholder groups on a shared initiative of global interest
  • Keen understanding of McKinsey's risk guardrails and protocols
  • Substantial experience working directly on digital and in-person events
  • Marketing, social media, and media relations experience
