Job Description

Purpose: The Facility Industrial Millwright is responsible for all maintenance activities at Plant City WWTF operating facility. The primary responsibility is to maximize equipment uptime, execute equipment maintenance and projects in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment. The position responsibilities may also include draining, removing product from storage tanks to make repairs through tank openings, valves and pipeline while complying with all safety standards and rules set by management. The candidate must be a self-starter, possessing the ability to manage multiple complex projects and tasks simultaneously as well as be able to influence, and develop relationships at all organization levels. This position is responsible for providing overall direction and coordinating all aspects of assigned projects, and equipment to ensure projects are completed in a safe manner.

Essential Duties:



  • Responsible for working safely in all job aspects and functions.
  • Duties also include, but are not limited to, electrical fuses, switches repairing of electrical wiring, and welding.
  • Assists in the continual development of the record keeping system to log servicing of equipment, repairs, Is responsible for on-going neat and accurate maintenance of same
  • Helps maintain the upkeep of the maintenance area
  • Can be assigned to any of our facilities in order to perform maintenance as necessary
  • Locates sources of problems by observing equipment in operation
  • Dismantling and reassembly of equipment for routine maintenance and repair
  • Seeks technical assistance from manufacturer support and vendors
  • Welding, fabrication of braces, brackets, mounts, for repair, retrofits, installation of equipment and controls
  • Performing careful inventory and stock checks and placing orders for required material and equipment.
  • Ensure work performance is planned and coordinated according to the schedule, with strict adherence to quality and budget considerations.
  • Maintain project work site in a safe and environmentally sound condition per company, State, and Federal policies, procedures, and regulations including EPA, OSHA and other code and regulatory agencies.
  • Assists in various job capacities to support efficient operations, when necessary.
  • Report activities to Operations Management and Corporate Accounting

Work Experience



  • Minimum of 5 years Industrial Maintenance experience.
  • Experience with working within regulatory (OSHA) environment required

    • Experience working within Safe Work Permit guidelines (e.g., Lockout/Tagout, Hot Work, etc.) preferred


  • Previous experience operating industrial services units (e.g. equipment, vacuum trucks, manlifts, forklifts) required
  • Welding (either Stick or MIG) and Fabricating parts


Education, Certificates, Licenses, or Designations



  • High school diploma or its equivalent
  • Electrical certification or 3 years' experience and ability to obtain certification post-employment.
  • Welding certification or 3 years' experience and ability to obtain certification post-employment
  • 40 Hour HAZWOPER (obtain cert. post-employment)



Specific Skills



  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook Required
  • Ability to work independently without supervision
  • Effective communication skills verbal and written
  • Proven ability to operate, maintain and troubleshoot industrial equipment.
  • Ability to pass a mechanical aptitude test
  • Must be able to read schematics and understand how electricity works.



Work Environment: While performing essential duties of this position an individual will at times work at elevated heights with moderate physical activity including, walking, climbing, and lifting objects up to 50 pounds. The position frequently requires work in outside weather conditions, including rain and extreme heat, near moving mechanical parts and includes occasional exposure to wet and/or humid conditions and to vibration. Individual will be required to wear protective equipment such as welding shields, hard hat, hearing protection and on an occasional basis work with hazardous materials. Must be able to regularly talk, hear, see, and often reach with hands, stand, walk, use a computer keyboard, mouse, telephone, and other office equipment. Work hours will vary in length and schedule.
