Kitware is seeking an accomplished and enthusiastic Director of Software and Data Solutions to lead a talented team of software innovators creating solutions with worldwide impact. This is a rare opportunity to join the company's leadership team behind popular open source software platforms such as CMake, VTK, ParaView, and 3D Slicer. In this role, you will use your business development skills to leverage the technical expertise of our Software and Data Solutions team to sell and successfully deliver solutions to commercial, federal, and academic customers. You will provide leadership for a team of over 30 people and, due to the success of your business development endeavors, grow the team to handle the new opportunities. You will be a part of Kitware's leadership team, working together to ensure the success of the company while maintaining our commitment to being a great place to work.

In This Position You Will Be Responsible For:
  • New Business Development: Create and execute a business development strategy that results in growth while remaining true to our mission.
  • Project and Relationship Management: Build and strengthen relationships with our top customers. Work with Kitware's project leads to ensure successful outcomes that exceed expectations.
  • Team Leadership: Provide direction, inspiration, and mentorship for a team of 30+ people.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Foster relationships with existing collaborators and find new partners to collaboratively pursue large-scale opportunities. Ensure the team broadly communicates our technical advancements and successes through blog posts, webinars, academic papers, and presentations.
Required Qualifications:
  • An educational background in technology and professional experience at a technology company.
  • Exceptional people leadership skills, with a history of successfully leading and growing a team.
  • Outstanding business development skills with a proven track record of finding new business opportunities and maintaining those revenue streams.
  • Significant experience creating and following a team budget; managing an appraisal process and deciding compensation; and performing resource allocation and determining hiring needs.
  • Excellent project management skills with demonstrable efforts leading and delivering complex projects on time, within budget, and with a high level of customer satisfaction.
  • Experience collaborating successfully with others at the leadership level, and thriving in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
