APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS:
POSITION SPECIFICS The Huck Institutes of the Life Sciences at The Pennsylvania State University is seeking applications for the role of Genomics Core Facility Director. This is a non-tenure track position at the rank of Assistant Research Professor, Associate Research Professor, or Research Professor. The successful candidate will direct the Genomics Core Facility at University Park. Responsibilities: Duties of this position include, but are not limited to the following:
Education and Experience: The successful candidate must have a Ph.D. in a life-sciences or genomics-related field with exceptional hands-on experience in all aspects of next-generation sequencing. Candidates must have demonstrated experience with DNA/RNA quality control, preparation of templates for next-generation sequencing, and operation of sequencing instrumentation. Candidates should have a strong publication record and ideally will have a history of obtaining research or instrumentation funding. This is a research service position, and exceptionally qualified candidates must be highly motivated with demonstrated excellence in interpersonal and communication skills (written and oral). Evidence of project and time management skills are as essential as technical knowledge and skills.
