Our journey towards best-in-class RGM capabilities is enabled by significant CHD investment in structure, talent, processes and tools/systems.

From a structural perspective, CHD has formalized the RGM function, staffing with dedicated resources. The RGM team reports to the EVP of Sales.

The RGM team is led by the RGM VP. This leadership role develops and integrates RGM capabilities, providing critical support for Commercial Team portfolio strategy development and improved execution at the market level. This includes championing RGM engagement and best practices as a center of excellence for Pricing, Trade Investment and Mix capabilities.

The primary scope of RGM within a market is to drive increased trade investment productivity, net price realization and improved mix. This includes collaborating across the organization to optimize pack-price architecture, program of sale/pay for performance conditions and overall Trade ROI.

The RGM Trade Architecture Sr Analyst (this role) reports to the RGM Trade Architecture Director serving as a key business partner for Sales and the trade terms expert. This senior analyst role helps deliver profitable category & profit pool growth with customers, partnering with Sales and Sales Finance teams to design and execute trade investment frameworks & programs of sale across channels & customers. This includes the development and management of customer Trade budgets and trading terms focused against trade investment productivity for CHD and our customers. The primary objectives for the RGM Trade Architecture Senior Analyst are to:

  • Deliver expert analytical support towards the development of local Trade Investment Strategies aligned to our category growth ambitions and key business levers. Support the Trade Architecture Director and work with KAM, Finance & Legal teams to design customer centric Trade investment structures and programs of sale, focusing investment behind category growth initiatives and efficient customer behaviors (e.g., lower NQCs).

  • Support the management of CHD Trade investment budgets and driving to pay for performance. Help develop, manage and monitor Trade Investment Budgets for AOP, S&OP and quarterly customer review processes to ensure delivery of customer growth, mix & trade shape targets. This includes partnering with Finance and Sales Teams to better understand the impacts and opportunities for Trade Architecture and Trade Terms with crisp, thorough and timely analysis & reporting.

Key Accountabilities/Responsibilities:

  • Support the RGM Trade Architecture Director in evaluating and creating recommendations on long term trade investment strategies for the market including driving the creation of the Strategic Channel Management framework by creating robust fact bases on Customer/Channel/Portfolio dynamics.

  • Alongside the RGM Trade Architecture Director, incorporate external and internal information to create and maintain compelling SBU Trade Architecture investment frameworks by partnering with:

    • Sales Finance and Sales Operations teams to understand investment options available to support SCM outputs and programs of sale.

    • Sales teams to understand any specific Customer/Channel opportunities.

    • Customer marketing and Category Leadership to understand Category and customer growth Strategies.

  • Communicate clear guidelines on the trade architecture investment structure

  • Own all associated reporting and analysis to ensure a clear understanding of the different investment structures (including recommended trade margins and profit pools).

  • Support the Sales Leadership, RGM and KAMs teams to design and deliver annual growth & trade shape targets by account.

    • This includes conducting on-going trade investment and budget analyses, utilizing insights gathered to inform, monitor and course correct plans.

  • Support the development of the Pay for Performance journey, including developing Key performance metrics to inform investment

  • Under the guidance of the RGM Trade Architecture Director, improve management and transparency of trade investment budgets and productivity progress:

    • Enter & maintain Trade Budgets in TPM system/tools. Monitor compliance & performance versus frameworks & targets at account/budget holder level

    • Collaborate with Trade Promotions Excellence, KAMs and Finance to recommend additional trade investments to capture incremental customer/channel growth opportunities. This includes consolidating trade investment business cases and helping to gain agreement through S&OP

  • Own the creation and analysis of all Trade Investment reporting. This, includes:

    • Monitor latest investment position by customer versus plan across the key trade investment KPI's (e.g. TLI, Trade shape, Working Vs Non-Working Trade Spend).

    • Monitor levels of Non quality trade against budgets.

    • Produce quarterly trade investment packs for review detailing the changes versus prior year and Plan, including Trade investment bridges and helping to provide visibility on the different trade investment buckets and their changes.

Job Specifications:

  • All RGM roles require strong commercial, leadership and influencing capability with the ability to build effective working relationships/teams and inspire and motivate stakeholders both internally and externally.

Education & Professional Qualification

  • Graduate caliber, with experience in a blue chip FMCG/consumer product with an analytical background.

  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience.

  • Bachelor's degree required.

Knowledge/Experience

  • A proven record in analyzing and modelling complicated data sets and the creation of analysis tools (Excel, Databases) to aid decision making. The ability to use this information to reach insightful conclusions and create robust recommendations ('So What') and present outputs in an informative way.

  • An understanding of the commercial P&L is required, including how changes in sales and investments affect this.

  • Functional/technical understanding and know-how specifically:

  • Trade Promotional Knowledge (Preferred) - An understanding of the concepts of trade promotions (Price discounts, uplifts, base & incremental volumes, trigger funding), ROI, TLI, Trade shape would be helpful. As would the ability to calculate customer trade margin through different investment levels.

  • Trade Promotional Systems/Tools (Helpful) - Knowledge and experience using analytical models and TPM IT systems for accurate promotional scenario planning, including their integration with other information management/forecasting systems (e.g., Funds Management and Demand Planning)

  • Trade Promotional Strategy (Helpful) - demonstrated understanding of the strategic & operational impacts of trade promotional decisions across the 5C's (i.e. Category, Consumer, Customer, Competitor, Company) and the impact of changes on the value chain.

  • Able to build successful working relationships, being a key contributor as part of a cross functional team.

  • Able to effectively articulate and convey ideas and thoughts in a simple and effective manner. Not afraid to voice ideas or opinions within a peer group.
