Business Development Analyst

JOB SUMMARY

In collaboration with function areas across the organization, the individual will effectively harvest and analyze key data and due diligence in support of strategy development, business planning and inorganic growth initiatives. From relevant data, provide insight to Corporate Development and Enterprise Strategy Teams to support sound business decisions. The Corporate Development Analyst will help determine the attractiveness of markets and understand evolving opportunities and threats to support Terumo BCT business objectives. This includes rapid understanding of complex opportunities, the ability to illustrate those concepts and simply communicate insights and recommendations to team members and business area leaders.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES



  • Provide thoughtful analysis and insight to support strategic decisions on inorganic growth opportunities
  • Be a trusted team member within the organizations to help drive clear, actionable plans that are well articulated and clearly define approach and direction
  • Using data and analysis (external and internal) to understand key differentiators between products and technologies creating visuals to illustrate market landscapes
  • Support evaluation of inorganic opportunities, increasing the speed of decision making on strategic bets
  • Development of business cases and financial analyses in collaboration with marketing and Finance, clearly articulating market trends, model assumptions (market sizing, revenue/cost drivers, adoption rates) and deal structures.
  • Build relationships within Research & Development department to work collaboratively in the evaluation and understanding of early-stage technologies
  • Leverage competitive intelligence and market landscape analyses to identify future opportunities with emerging companies, technologies and solutions
  • Support Strategy and Marketing performing initial market sizing assessments
  • Work collaboratively with Regulatory, Clinical, Legal, Commercial, and other functional areas when additional analysis is needed, documenting key project success factors and risk factors
  • Continually monitor market and product knowledge to stay up to date with the latest advancements, emerging technologies and services within our core business and adjacent markets
  • Prepare high quality presentations of findings to project teams in a professional, engaging, and easy-to-understand way
  • Contribute to a positive work climate for effective teamwork and morale.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

Education Bachelor's degree or, equivalent of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job may be considered Experience



  • Minimum 3 years research and analytical experience; proven success in interpreting, manipulating and visualizing data to find and summarize insight
  • Preferred broad-based knowledge in business, finance, or marketing
  • Previous experience within healthcare and medical devices preferred


SKILLS



  • Advanced analytical and strategic thinking skills
  • Experience with modeling projected financial statements for inorganic growth opportunities
  • Demonstrated competence and success in interpreting, manipulating and visualizing data to find insight from large datasets
  • Inquisitive, creative thinking and can react quickly to changing markets
  • Business acumen is critical as a key role of the incumbent is to understand what is important to the organization and how process improvement can positively impact the business objectives
  • Superb ability to multitask while paying attention to detail
  • Excellent interpersonal and cross-cultural skills and behaviors
  • Ability to work and collaborate in a matrix structure
  • Ability to work independently without daily direction
  • Effective oral and written communication skills in English, strong numeracy, and comfortable presenting to a range of audiences
  • Analytics skills and experience with MS Excel, Power BI and MS Powerpoint

Target Pay Range:$71,400.00to$89,200.00 -Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data

Target Bonus on Base:7.0%
