POSITION DESCRIPTION The position is responsible for the safe decommissioning of empty compressed gas cylinders and drums. Position requires the ability to work in adverse conditions wearing PPE while using various cutting tools to include plasma cutter, oxy/Acetylene torch, and bandsaws of various sizes. Position requires taking ownership of the Decommissioning process Work directly with Department Supervisors and Operators Safe movement of cylinders and drums Housekeeping of work areas Basic equipment maintenance Will perform other miscellaneous duties as required POSITION REQUIREMENTS Must be self-motivated with strong problem-solving skills Minimum high school diploma or equivalent 40-hour HAZWOPER training is preferred, but not required Strict adherence to protocols for handling cutting equipment Attention to detail and accuracy is a must Experience with, and handling of, compressed gas cylinders is a major plus, but not required Ability to lift an average of 50 pounds
