Hershey's Chocolate World is seeking an Audio-Visual Technician to join our Attractions team. This position will be responsible for working both experiential events and in-house/after hour events to ensure a seamless experience for the audience/clients in regard to the audio and visual requirements of the events. Duties may include setting up the audio-visual equipment prior to an event/tearing down after an event, configuring the equipment, testing the equipment prior to the event beginning, and performing on the spot troubleshooting/adjustments to produce the highest quality audio and video for our guests. This position requires a focus on exceptional customer service and as well as a thorough knowledge about audio and visual products/processes. The candidate should be able to clearly communicate with team members and enjoy working within a collaborative environment. Major Duties/Responsibilities: -Setting-up/Tearing down of Audio-Visual Equipment for experiential events and during/afterhours events -Evaluating the venue/space to understand the layout, acoustics, lighting and adjusting as needed in collaboration with leadership -Configuring equipment (microphones, laptops, mixers, projectors, etc.) to meet customer needs/event requirements and ensuring that the devices are compatible and functioning properly. -Ability to run cables safely and secure them to avoid tripping hazards -Testing equipment prior to the event beginning to ensure proper audio levels, video clarity, and other functionality of AV Equipment required by customers -Ability to operate and troubleshoot HCW AV Systems -During events - monitor audio and video quality - includes monitoring sound levels and video feeds. Trouble shooting may occur, and AV Technician must be able to make decisions in the moment -AV Technician is expected to respond to on-the-spot technical issues as they arise and quickly diagnose and issue a solution with as minimal impact to the guest experience as possible -The role will partner with the event staff and leadership to ensure that audio-visual needs are met and up to HCW guest facing standards. Must be able to clearly communicate needs/issues/and solutions professionally and calmly -May need to perform routine inspection of equipment (wear and tear, frayed cables, malfunctioning connectors, etc.) or clean equipment. If the AV Technician cannot fix malfunctioning/dirty equipment, they will partner with HCW Maintenance to communicate needs -May be asked to help with live recording/streaming or other customer needs as assigned Minimum knowledge, skills, and abilities required to successfully perform major duties/responsibilities: Excellent verbal and written communications and customer-service skills Must be able to perform all duties as listed in the job description with competence Must be comfortable with working with a team and making decisions Strong attention to detail Ability to react quickly and remain calm and professional in special/crisis situations Ability to interact with large groups and VIP groups Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize tasks Ability to be productive in a fast-paced environment Process improvement oriented Organized and able to communicate needs to appropriate stakeholders Must be approachable, showing that our guests/clients are our priority Must be professionally dressed and approachable Must be willing to listen to our guests/clients and provide for their needs Minimum Education and Experience Requirements: Education: N/A Experience: 1year of AV experience is required Preferred Experience: AV experience within an events setting is preferred but not required.
