SPA's Air Force and Army Portfolio provides aviation-focused analysis and program management for life-cycle systems engineering and logistics support, rapid capabilities development and fielding, cyber warfare operations, nuclear C3, and integrated air and missile defense planning. We provide advanced studies, wargame development, and analysis to support materiel operations, supply strategies, and fleet readiness.

SPA has an immediate need for an Air-Surface Operations Analyst to support our customer in Fort Irwin, CA. #FC



Responsibilities

Exercise Green Flag provides a training venue to joint and coalition aircrew, air liaison officers, joint terminal attack controllers, air battle managers, and weapons systems operators in the planning and execution of joint air-surface operations in counter-land and counter-sea operations. Personnel supporting this effort will provide suitable air-surface subject matter expertise (SME) necessary to conduct their missions within the 12th Combat Training Squadron (12 CTS) at the National Training Center (NTC). This includes exercise planning, debrief production, after-action report support, Air Support Operations Center (ASOC) emulation, Combined Air-Space Operations Center (CAOC) air/consolidated tasking order (ATO/CTO) production, and SME personnel through the exercise battle cycle.

Air-Surface Operations Analyst duties include:

    ASOC, Tactical Air Control Party (TACP), and Close Air Support (CAS) emulation
  • Liaison between Green Flag and National Training Center
  • Instruct and assess ASOC/TACP units in conjunction with exercises
  • Support Personnel Recovery (PR) training missions
  • Operate within training range procedures
  • Adjudicate air-surface and surface-air shots
  • Operate briefing and debriefing systems
  • Development and collection of exercise data

Pay Range: 70-80k.



Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • 3+ years' experience conducting DoD air-surface missions
  • Coordination with multiple joint agencies
  • Experience controlling attack aviation in military operations and exercises
  • Strong ability to identify and communication lessons learned within exercise environment
  • DoD Secret clearance and the ability to maintain it throughout employment

Desired Qualifications:

  • Completed Joint Firepower Course
  • Experience with Green Flag, National Training Center, or similar exercises
  • Demonstrated ability with MS Office and other data-management tools
