Position Summary:

Ensure that proven Reliability Engineering methods and techniques are used across the B. Braun US and Dominican Republic manufacturing plants to maximize system availability, throughput, safety, quality and environmental performance.

The role of the Senior Reliability Engineer is to identify and mitigate risks that could adversely affect plant or business operations. The Senior Reliability Engineer provides leadership and technical expertise in support of the B. Braun asset management strategy, asset reliability excellence, performance reliability excellence and world class maintenance associated practices, to ensure maximum equipment reliability at minimum life cycle cost.

This self-driven, self-motivated individual works equally well independently or as a part of a team.

The Senior Reliability Engineer must be capable of:

  • analyzing conditions, performing technical troubleshooting, and identifying the root cause(s).
  • communicating and building census for solutions to issues with each sites RE.
  • evaluating asset/equipment conditions using invasive and non-invasive practices/technologies to monitor equipment for early signs of deteriorating condition; allowing for early prediction and failure analysis. The Senior Reliability Engineer coordinates/ assists in training and mentoring of mechanics in electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic maintenance and repair of assets.

The Senior Reliability Engineer oversees mitigation and intervention of identified issues to ensure that the temporary/permanent resolution is planned, scheduled, and implemented.

The Senior Reliability Engineer fosters effective working relationships built upon trust and respect across all levels of the organization.

  • Proficient computer skills including:
    • MS Office Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
    • Availability Simulation and Modeling Software
    • Statistical Analysis Software
  • Familiarity with Lean/Six Sigma methods and processes
  • Certified Maintenance and Reliability Professional (CMRP)
  • Certified Reliability Leader (CRL)
  • Level 1 Certification in one or more proactive technologies like Ultrasound, Oil Analysis, Thermography or Vibration Analysis

Responsibilities: Essential Duties

  • Provides technical oversight and management for the development of the facility's equipment hierarchy
  • Facilitates and manages Asset Health Matrix for all process lines and critical assets
  • Facilitates and manages the development and maintenance of the Asset Criticality Database
  • Facilitates the development of failure modes driven Equipment Maintenance Plans (EMPs)
  • Uses statistical methods to analyze asset failure data to determine the need for adjustments in:
    • MRO inventory
    • Planned maintenance task and/or frequencies
    • Equipment design
  • Uses statistical methods and reliability modeling to determine optimized equipment maintenance strategies based on:
    • Cost of process downtime
    • Cost of direct maintenance
    • EHS impact
  • Provides technical oversight for the development and management of condition based monitoring activities (Remote Sensors, Ultrasound, Thermography, Vibration Analysis, Oil Analysis and others)
  • Provides technical oversight and management of the facility's Failure Reporting, Analysis, and Corrective Action System (FRACAS)
  • Applies reliability analysis methods to new designs to determine system, asset and component reliability to ensure that new equipment meets performance expectations.
  • Provides leadership and technical expertise in support of the B. Braun asset management strategy, asset reliability excellence, performance reliability excellence and world class maintenance associated practices, to ensure maximum equipment reliability at minimum life cycle cost.

Expertise: Qualifications -Education/Experience/Training/Etc

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • 03-05 years related experience ORTechnical requirements completed and pass assessment at appropriate level.
  • Applicable industry/professional certification preferred.
  • Frequent business travel required, Ability to work non-standard schedule as needed

Target Based Range: $98,483 - $123,096
