Configuration Management Administrator

KEMET, a YAGEO Group company, is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to serve as a Configuration Management Administrator.

We're seeking a skilled and detail-driven Configuration Management Administrator to manage and enhance our ServiceNow Configuration Management Database (CMDB). This role is central to maintaining accurate configuration data and supporting automated discovery across our IT landscape. You'll work closely with infrastructure and process teams to troubleshoot discovery issues, optimize integrations, and ensure alignment with the Common Service Data Model (CSDM) and service mapping standards.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Maintain and update configuration items (CIs), relationships, and attributes within the ServiceNow CMDB
• Support and optimize ServiceNow Discovery, including MID server configuration, probes, sensors, and patterns
• Collaborate with infrastructure teams to manage credentials, create discovery schedules, and resolve errors
• Ensure CI relationships are properly built and validated, connecting to application and technical services
• Customize CI classes, workflows, and attributes to meet organizational needs and industry best practices
• Enforce CMDB governance policies and procedures to maintain data integrity
• Assist with Service Mapping efforts and ensure alignment with CSDM principles
• Support ServiceNow integrations (REST APIs, web services, database connections) to enhance CMDB functionality
• Apply data normalization and standardization practices to improve CMDB quality

Qualifications:

• 3+ years of hands-on experience administering and configuring ServiceNow CMDB
• Strong experience supporting ServiceNow Discovery, including probes, sensors, patterns, and MID servers
• Familiarity with CSDM and Service Mapping frameworks
• Experience with ServiceNow integrations (REST APIs, web services, database connections)
• Solid understanding of CI classes, relationships, and workflows
• Knowledge of ITIL practices, especially configuration management
• Proven ability to assess environments, identify gaps, and implement process improvements
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a detail-oriented approach
• Proficiency in MS Office tools, especially Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently or in cross-functional teams

Education and Licensing:

• Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, a similar technical discipline or comparable experience
• ITIL v3/v4 Foundation certification a plus
• ServiceNow System Administrator Certification a plus
