https://medicine.uams.edu/familymedicine/research/red/ecpd/ Summary of Job Duties:Reporting to the Department of Family and Preventative Medicine (DFPM), Research and Evaluation Division, the Research Assistant will be responsible for coordination, logistics, and outreach support for programs that provide professional development and services to support healthy child development in early childhood education. This position will work closely with the Principal Investigator (PI), co-investigators, and evaluators to assist the research team. It will assist with basic tasks for the organization and implementation of research projects including participant scheduling, data collection, data organization, data cleaning, conducting literature reviews, and document editing. The candidate must be able to create professional presentations on research and evaluation results. The Research Assistant will prepare project materials by reviewing, printing, collating, and packaging materials. Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in education, social science, or related field (psychology, sociology, social work) plus three (3) years of experience in experience in education, project management, social science research, public health research, or data collection or

  • Master's degree in social science or related field (psychology, sociology, social work) plus one (1) year of experience in experience in social science research, public health research, or data collection required.

Minimum Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Skilled in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

  • Ability and Willingness to lift up to 25 lbs.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in early childhood development research or early childhood education programs.

  • Experience with REDCap database.

  • Experience with SPSS statistical software.

  • Human subjects research observational data collection.

  • Experience with data collection survey design.

Additional Information:

Responsibilities:

  • Maintains databases by completing data entry and ensuring accurate records by following quality control protocols.

  • Serves as a project team member and attends project, interagency, and other meetings to coordinate team members and task assignments.

  • Responsible for meeting minutes and coordinating the scheduling of project meetings.

  • Schedules data collection observations with community early education providers.

  • Communicates and works with a diverse range of project and provider staff members professionally.

  • Interacts daily with the Project Director, research staff, and administrative support to communicate and discuss data maintenance and reporting protocols.

  • Assists faculty with Literature reviews and document editing.

  • Assures all research faculty citations and bibliographies are updated in multiple online systems.

  • Prepares project-specific training materials and organizes online and via face-to-face training in locations across the state.

  • Provides logistical support for community training and assists in record keeping of professional development sessions offered.

  • Develops reports for the Project Director, Evaluator, database contractors, and the project funder using the data management system and other software as needed.

  • Serves as a general data coordinator and liaison for Project Director, PI, or Evaluator, ensuring human subjects compliance and privacy/HIPAA compliance relative to the data collection, management, and analysis.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.
