Job Description

Mizzou Advancement Communications and Marketing is dedicated to implementing a comprehensive, data-informed and collaborative communications and marketing strategy that supports the university's philanthropic and alumni relations goals. We are currently seeking a seasoned, strategic and results-driven Communications Project Manager to join our team and lead the development of high-impact projects that engage donors and alumni and inspire philanthropic support for Mizzou.

Reporting to the Executive Director of Advancement Communications and Marketing, the Communications Project Manager will oversee the full lifecycle of communications and marketing projects from planning and resource allocation to execution and evaluation. This role will provide regular updates on project status and ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope and aligned with strategic objectives.

In this role, you will support the Advancement Communications and Marketing team by creating and implementing effective communications plans, streamlining processes and workflows, and documenting completed projects for future reference. You will also provide regular progress updates to the Executive Director of Advancement Communications and Marketing.

Success in this position requires exceptional organizational skills, strong verbal and written communication abilities, and proficiency with project management tools and systems.

Position Responsibilities:
* Manage communications and marketing projects throughout the entire lifecycle.
* Support the creation, integration and execution of comprehensive communications plans in collaboration with team members and stakeholders.
* Evaluate and mitigate risks involved in implementing communications strategies.
* Determine appropriate resource allocation based on project scope, timeline and institutional priorities.
* Establish project milestones, define key performance indicators (KPIs) and support long-term operational planning.
* Assign tasks, monitor progress and ensure timely project completion.
* Identify opportunities to improve communication workflows and recommend actionable solutions.
* Provide regular updates and strategic insights to the Executive Director of Advancement Communications and Marketing on project status, outcomes and impact.
* Collaborate with members of the Advancement Communications and Marketing team to provide best-practice consultation to the Division of Advancement, university communications and marketing team members, and internal and external stakeholders to plan, deliver and evaluate creative and effective donor and alumni communications.
* Exhibit a strong appreciation for and ability to articulate philanthropy's significance in achieving the mission and vision of the University of Missouri and the Mizzou Alumni Association.

Shift

8-5, Monday-Friday

Minimum Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 3 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years of professional experience in project management, preferably as part of a creative agency or in-house communications team.
  • Bachelor's degree in communications, media studies, journalism, marketing or a related field.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of project management methodologies, tools and best practices.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines with strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with project management platforms, preferably ClickUp.
Anticipated Hiring Range

Salary Range: $58,000-$70,000/year

Grade: GGS-010
