The Role

The Director of Marketing - Field Activation is astrategic marketing leaderresponsible for driving high-impact field marketing and account-based programs that fuel Lumen's business growth. In this role, you will serve as the key marketing partner to our Business Development (BD) and Sales teams, designing targeted 1:1 account-based marketing (ABM) campaigns, crafting compelling messaging and content for executive audiences, and equipping the sales organization with tools and strategies to win key deals. This Seattle-based role operates in a hybrid work environment (in-office ~2-3 days/week) and requires a hands-on leader who canthink big-picture, collaborate cross-functionally, and execute with excellenceto make a visible impact on pipeline and revenue goals.

The Main Responsibilities
  • Strategic ABM Campaigns:Lead the design and execution of 1:1 and 1:few ABM campaigns for priority enterprise accounts, aligned with BD and Sales strategies to accelerate pipeline growth.
  • Content & Messaging:Develop persuasive, executive-level messaging and custom content (e.g. presentations, proposals) that clearly communicate Lumen's value propositions and resonate with C-level decision makers.
  • Sales Partnership & Enablement:Collaborate with BD and Sales teams to co-create pursuit strategies and provide targeted sales enablement tools (playbooks, pitch decks, outreach templates) that help advance and close high-value opportunities.
  • Performance Optimization:Track and report on campaign performance (engagement, conversion, pipeline contribution) and use data-driven insights to refine tactics for improved ROI and impact.
  • Cross-Functional Alignment:Partner with Product Marketing and other teams to ensure consistent positioning and an integrated go-to-market approach across all touchpoints, maintaining alignment with Lumen's strategic objectives.
  • Field Events & Insights:Leverage field events and customer engagements as part of an integrated strategy. Gather market and customer insights from the field to inform campaign adjustments and new growth opportunities.
What We Look For in a Candidate
  • 10+ years of B2B marketing experience(enterprise technology or SaaS preferred), including significant field marketing or ABM responsibility with a track record of driving pipeline and revenue growth.
  • Strategic leadership and execution:Proven ability to develop and implement marketing strategies that align with organizational goals and deliver results.
  • Strong project leadership skills, with experience guiding cross-functional initiatives or teams.
  • Start-up mentality: Willing to boot strap projects and do whatever it takes to support the business development team and their customers.
  • Exceptional communication and storytelling:Excellent writer and presenter, skilled at translating complex solutions into clear, compelling content and executive presentations that drive action.
  • Data-driven mindset:Comfortable with marketing analytics and KPIs. Able to interpret campaign data and CRM insights to make informed decisions and optimizations.
  • Collaboration & initiative:Highly collaborative partner who can effectively influence stakeholders in Sales, BD, and Product teams.
  • Self-starter with a proactive mindset, able to work independently and drive projects with minimal oversight.
  • Tech and tools proficiency:Experience with CRM and marketing automation systems (e.g. Salesforce, Marketo) and ABM platforms (e.g. Demandbase).
  • Education:Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, or related field required; MBA or advanced degree is preferred.
Compensation
This information reflects the anticipated base salary range for this position based on current national data. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual pay is based on skills, experience and other relevant factors.

Location Based Pay Ranges

$163,993 - $218,657 in these states: WA
