Salem, NH (NEA) - Filling industrial How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW? The primary responsibility of the Specialty Gas Technician will be the analysis and filling of pure and compressed gas mixtures in accordance with global and local work instructions and relevant legislation. Additional responsibilities will include the selection and 'qualifying' of cylinders to be filled, setting up and operating our filling and analytical systems, and the timely completion of all relevant paperwork.

In particular you will:

  • Responsible for filling all grades of product, from unanalyzed to EPA protocol.

  • Sets up instrumentation and analyzers to facilitate filling.

  • Selects and vacuums cylinders for scheduled filling.

  • Completes all required analysis, paperwork and labelling related to completion of cylinder filling.

  • Supports the Management team in regards to maintenance and improvement of Health, Safety and ISO Quality programs.

  • Supports plant management through the development and maintenance of ISO 17025 program.

  • Maintains a positive and productive work environment through active participation in laboratory meetings and assigned team activities.

  • Supports plant operations through the completion of tasks or projects outlined or requested by plant management.

  • Provides cross functional assistance between cylinder filler production and lab analyses within the facility as needed.

  • Orders raw materials.

  • Operates a forklift.

  • Segregates out test cylinders and any defective cylinders as appropriate.

  • Removes old labels and cleaning cylinders using approved solutions.

  • Stays compliant with all training records.

  • Other duties as assigned.

  • High School Diploma or GED Required.

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in a manufacturing environment.

  • Minimum of 5 years of prior work experience in a technical field/position. Prefer prior technical experience with compressed gases, gas analysis and gas lab equipment.

  • Prior experience using SAP preferred.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division in all units of measure using whole numbers, fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratios, and percent.

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.

  • Self-starter; self-motivated; operates with a sense of urgency; ability to work independently and under pressure to meet deadlines.

  • Detail oriented with the ability to complete handwritten compliance documentation neatly and accurately.

  • Demonstrated dedication to product quality and customer satisfaction.

  • Regularly lift and/or move up to 60 pounds and move up to 800 pounds with the aid of material handling equipment.
