The Broward County Board of County Commissioners is seeking qualified candidates for Systems Network Analyst, Senior.

This recruitment is part of our Infrastructure Services section of Broward County's Enterprise Technology Services located in Plantation, Florida. Our team is dedicated to ensuring the comprehensive management, reliable operation and maintenance of Broward County's IT infrastructure. This team covers a wide range of functions to support robust and resilient technological environments.

* 24/7 Support for Firewall and Network Infrastructure

* Systems Integration to streamline communication

General Description
Performs advanced professional, technical and analytical work with administrative responsibility in automation systems implementation and development.
Works independently, under limited supervision, reporting major activities through periodic meetings.

Hands on Mid-level experience in the discipline of Firewall Administration in a large-scale network.
* Frequent updates to a myriad of security products in use to protect the network from external connections.
* Analysis and configuration of Firewall rules to allow inbound/outbound access under a least privileged model maintaining over 1,000 rules.
* Inspection and remediation of a micro-segmented network to only allow valid data flows specific to the department.
* Technical management of Web filtering and blocking of potential rogue websites.
* Performance monitoring of Internet traffic flows through redundant points of egress to the outside.
* Firewall deployment to new sites, with standardization of rules and configurations maintained under a central console. Monitoring to
ensure all sites are consistently functional under the proper set of rules.
* Reactive support for zero-day security attacks against the Firewalls in a counter-defensive mode to withstand and sustain operations
safely and without impact.
* Must qualify for and maintain authority to drive on County business.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Requires a two (2) year degree from an accredited trade, technical or vocational school, college or university with major coursework in computer science or closely related field.
(One year of relevant experience may be substituted for each year of required education.)

Requires four (4) years in supporting users and analyzing computer systems or closely related experience.

Special Certifications and Licenses

* Two or more Fortinet Certified Professional (FCP) Certifications
* Fortinet Certified Expert (FCX)


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The functions listed below are those that represent the majority of the time spent working in this class. Management may assign additional functions related to the type of work of the job as necessary.

Provides design, procurement, implementation, and administration of the network infrastructure - routers, switches, and plans; provides procurement, implementation, and administration of firewalls.

Completes ad-hoc projects based on end user and Information Technology (IT) analyst needs, including troubleshooting and updating and maintaining file systems.

Performs change control tasks, including implementing and updating firewall access for applications as needed by application analysts; launches and implements any new technologies approved by management and special task force; studies, investigates, reviews, and recommends implementation of evolving and emerging technologies.

Performs analyses of systems designs, develops applications, and documents workflow and processes; reviews peer-reviewed and professional material in digital and paper formats to keep up with the latest trends in the technology community.

Provides systems administration for Firewall and Edge Security communications products., patch installation and upgrade maintenance; installs, configures, and manages computer security and virus removal.

This position may require localized travel throughout Broward County for the purposes of field services or onsite visits for items that cannot be supported remotely.

Performs related work as assigned.
