Our company's measurable growth is in no small part due to our team members in North Carolina, Arkansas, Illinois, and Missouri, who each have a seat at the table to contribute to our success Sr. Distribution Manager Job Summary Oversees the function responsible for the shipping, storage, and inventory control functions at assigned location. Provides strategic direction that ensures safety and well-being of team members and achievement of short-term and long-term performance goals. Key Responsibilities * Oversee a function typically through the oversight of managers. Provides strategic direction to the function. * Responsible for providing guidance, coaching, and support to ensure department achieves business goals. * Responsible for HR activities such as hiring, terminations, performance management, goal setting, team member development, scheduling, etc. * Oversee the development of systems, policies, and procedures. * Contributes to or is accountable for budget management for the function. * Collaborates with senior leadership to define long-term strategies that align to the Mission, Vision, and Guiding principles. * Ensures departmental goals align with overall business goals and needs. * Develop and communicate strategies across the team to ensure successful completion of performance goals. * Ensures processes meet established quality standards and comply with all regulatory requirements. Serves as an escalation point to resolve systemic issues for operation and distribution. * Oversee the review of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) ensuring teams are achieving company goals. * Works closely with QA and USDA making certain that area of responsibility meets all quality and regulatory requirements are met. * Develops and executes against budget. Identifies cost-saving opportunities and implements solutions. * Collaborates cross-functionally to ensure smooth transition of product to distribution area. * Serves as a member of various committees (i.e., safety, sustainability, and conservation, etc.). Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities * In-depth knowledge of Shipping, Storage, Warehousing, Inventory Control, HACCP, and/or USDA policies * Advanced knowledge in safety best practices, policies, and standards * Excellent leadership skills with the ability to develop, mentor, coach, support, and motivate a large cross-functional team of people leaders * Outstanding communication, presentation, and collaboration skills with the proven ability to influence and impact results at all levels * Distinguished at innovation, strategic thinking, and overseeing cross-functional initiatives Top-notch business acumen with the ability to identify and mitigate long term risk Proficient technology skills Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities * Bachelor's degree in relevant field Physical Demands * While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be regularly required to stand, sit, talk, hear, reach, stoop, kneel, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer, telephone, keyboard, and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds. * Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, color vision and the ability to adjust focus. Working Conditions * Work will be performed in a variety of conditions. * Occasionally in a climate-controlled office environment(s) and primarily in a manufacturing plant environment with varying conditions, such as cold areas, wet areas, warm areas, chemicals, and other site conditions. * This position requires the individual to wear and work in personal protective equipment while in the manufacturing environment. * The noise level of the office environment is usually moderate; the noise level in the manufacturing environment may exceed 85 DBA and require hearing protection. * Occasional travel may be required.
