DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a County Fiscal Officer 1, your primary responsibilities will entail accounting, processing, reporting, and budgeting duties for the agency's bi-weekly employee payroll and for the foster grandparent volunteer program. You will also support accounts payable, in addition to processing vendor payments, coding invoices by cost center or account, and preparing purchase requisitions and orders. Strong attention to detail is essential, as you will be resolving any transaction-processing problems that may arise, and monitoring contract expenditures in comparison with the budget and authorized contractual limits. Excellent interpersonal skills are employed to provide guidance and training to agency staff surrounding utilizing Excel, timekeeping tasks and protocol, and various other payroll matters. Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
- Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Two years as a Fiscal Technician and six college credits in accounting; or
- Five years of bookkeeping experience and six college credits in accounting; or
- Three years of accounting and/or budgetary experience and a business related associate's degree that includes six college credits in accounting; or
- One year of accounting and/or budgetary experience and a business-related bachelor's degree that includes six college credits in accounting; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training that includes or is supplemented by six college credits in accounting.
Other Requirements:
