Description

The purpose of IT Intern is to support the Systems Administrator with business system hardware and peripheral software in an aerospace manufacturing environment. The IT Intern will provide initial "helpdesk" support and IT assistance for business systems.

Responsibilities:



  • Assist/perform IT functions for business systems hardware and peripheral software with objectives met by the deadlines required.
  • Install and maintain peripheral devices such as printers, scanners, mobile/smart phones related to desktop infrastructure in accordance with department standards.
  • Provide advice and guidance regarding incidents and requests. Identify, log and resolve technical problems related to desktop and networking.
  • Maintain installed PC's, networks, telephone systems and peripherals performing routine maintenance.
  • Identify potential changes and improvements to present to your team leader for consideration and implementation.
  • Maintain work area in a clean and orderly condition
  • Follow all safety rules and regulations
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor or manager



Physical Requirements:



  • Ability to sit for extended periods of time, and at times required to stand and move
  • Fine motor skills with frequent hand and arm movement
  • Moderate twisting and bending
  • Some lifting less than 25 pounds



Unusual Environmental Conditions:



  • General office environment with exposure to the manufacturing floor which is a loud machining environment; exposure to aerospace metals, lubricants and chemicals



Required Personal Protective Equipment:



  • On manufacturing floor safety glasses/shields, appropriate manufacturing closed toed footwear, hearing protection may be required or other protective equipment as needed



Qualifications:



  • US Citizen
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • IT Technical certificate or equivalent experience required
  • Associates degree (IT/Business-related) desired
  • Prior experience in computer support and technical troubleshooting
  • Ability to understand security requirements and administration of security
  • Propensity to learn and continually develop programming skills ( Access, Excel and Oracle)
  • Working Knowledge of MS Word and PowerPoint to develop training and standard work/forms.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Solid time management skills; ability to work on multiple projects/tasks and meet required deadlines
  • Interpersonal skill set; ability to work with all levels and ability to work in a cross-functional team environment
  • Previous background in a manufacturing environment is strongly desired
