Langley Federal Credit Union is currently hiring for a Full-Time Business Analyst Team Leader to work ON SITE from our City Center facility in Newport News, VA.

Job Summary:

The Business Analyst Team Leader manages and mentors a team of Business Analysts who gather, analyze, and validate business needs, serving as system experts across various internal software applications. This working leader acts as the primary liaison between business units and technology teams, driving system enhancements for optimal performance. They consult with Senior Management on software solutions, align resources, oversee project management using Agile methodologies, and coordinate with vendors and internal teams to implement, test, and optimize system updates and improvements.

Essential Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities:



  • Leads and supervises a team of Business Analysts.
  • Elicits business requirements from business users and subject matter experts.
  • Defines and documents requirements and analyzes and prioritizes the requirements.
  • Writes functional specifications.
  • Leads the development of common standards and tools.
  • Follows agile delivery methodologies in writing user/technical stories with acceptance criteria mapped to test cases, facilitating scrum calls, and prioritizing backlog(s).
  • Manages business partner and outside vendor relationships and expectations by developing a communication process to keep all parties current on project results.
  • Supports and aligns efforts to meet business partners' needs.
  • Consults with and provides expert opinion to Senior Management on new software under consideration for internal deployment.
  • Consults with business units in understanding and implementing system functionality to improve and streamline their operation.
  • Stays current with business partners' needs and strategies by utilizing formal and informal written communication methods to communicate updates and findings to diverse audiences.
  • Provides leadership to team members and peers by collaborating with others, articulating ideas and viewpoints to senior management, peers, and others, identifying and initiating projects, managing resources, resolving issues, and holding oneself and the team accountable for results.
  • Collaborates closely with developers, data scientists, and technology partners to implement solutions and provide necessary guidance to testers during the QA process.
  • Serves as a liaison between the business units and Information Technology.
  • Acts as a subject matter expert on selected software applications; supports the business units and coordinates application support with the vendor and internal resources.
  • Partners with business units to specify test procedures and controls for new software applications or solutions, including releases, hotfixes, and upgrades. Prepares test data, analyzes test results, and documents test outcomes for review and final approval by the business units.
  • Conducts effective progress evaluation and suggests areas for improvement in internal processes, along with providing solutions.


Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and business analysis experience required.
  • Five (5) years in a business analyst position or a position providing varied analytical data preferred.
  • Two (2) or more years' experience working on large-scale technology projects involving cross-functional and technical teams preferred.
  • Two (2) or more years' experience mentoring and leading other Business Analysts preferred.
  • Prior experience in User Interface/User Experience (UI/UX) design and best practices is desired.
  • Prior experience working with Agile Delivery methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) is desired.
  • Prior experience working with modern DevSecOps tools (i.e., Atlassian Products, Azure DevOps) is desired.
