Goldbelt Professional Services specializes in providing expert resources for Public Health missions including scientific, technical, and administrative support from junior staff to high-level subject matter experts. Research and data driven, Goldbelt Professional Services' experts create solutions customized to the client's needs.

Summary:

Goldbelt Professional Services, LLC is seeking a Epidemiologist to work with the Office of Readiness and Response (ORR) as part of the Division of Readiness and Response Science (DRRS). The focus of the work will be to evaluate and analyze data for emergency preparedness in an early care and education setting. The position will be working at Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Roybal Campus in Atlanta, GA. The CDC is the nation's premier health promotion, prevention, and preparedness agency. The Epidemiologist will report to Goldbelt Professional Services leadership to ensure the execution of timely, high-quality deliverables for the client.


Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions:

  • Design surveys and other efficient mechanisms to collect data.
  • Assess survey and other efficient mechanism results.
  • Analyze data related to NOFO projects and CDC activated emergency responses.
  • Apply statistical methodology to complex data for reporting to CDC.
  • Use statistics to make forecasts to identify patterns that explain behavior.
  • Present information in a variety of formats i.e.. PowerPoint, Word, Adobe, etc.
  • Interpret data with mathematical techniques.
  • Communicate results to non-statisticians utilizing clear language and ensuring 508 compliances.
  • Assist with the development of CDC/ORR/DRRS manuscripts and presentations.
  • Utilize a wide range of skills with various and current statistical software.

Qualifications

Necessary Skills and Knowledge:

  • Strong aptitude for processing, working with, and evaluating data from multiple sources.
  • Attention to detail is a must.
  • Must be capable of working with general guidance and with little to no supervision.
  • Demonstrated ability to decipher and organize exceptionally large databases.
  • Able to build and learn other networks and suggest appropriate statistical methods based on relevant experience.
  • Able to collaborate with internal CDC partners.
  • Highly detailed and organized with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication in interpersonal exchanges.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Statistics, Data Science, or related field.
  • Hands-on experience working with large data sets.
  • Highly proficient in using various statistical software (SAS, R, SPSS, Stata, etc.).
  • Experience with Data visualization utilizing Power BI and Tableau.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain CDC Clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience working with the CDC is highly desired to understand the culture and environment.
  • Knowledge of influenza and other respiratory virus surveillance.
  • Experience working with Python.
