Division of Student Success

The Office of Undergraduate Admissions is seeking to hire a Director of Admissions and Recruitment. This role serves as the key leader and visionary for recruitment initiatives targeting first-year, transfer, Dual Enrollment, and international students across both the four-year and two-year campuses of Georgia State University. The Director is responsible for providing overall direction, management, and strategic initiatives for recruitment efforts, encompassing first-year, transfer, transition, Dual Enrollment, and international student recruitment. This includes tasks such as staff supervision, hiring, firing, disciplinary actions, and training.

Additionally, the Director oversees the Welcome Center on the four-year campus and manages the visitation experience at the two-year campuses. Collaboration is a crucial aspect of this role, involving close work with the Marketing and Communications Team, Transfer and Transition, as well as the Honors College, to develop and implement strategic marketing approaches aimed at prospective students. Further collaboration occurs with the Office of Student Success to drive recruitment initiatives for various programs.

The Director works closely with the Director of Processing and Technology and the Director of Marketing and Communication to ensure timely application review, decision release, and communication efforts to maximize yield. The Director is responsible for ensuring top-notch customer service for prospective students, admitted students, parents, visitors, and constituents. This includes both phone and in-person interactions at multiple campuses. Moreover, the Director serves as the primary point of contact for admissions-related customer service concerns from departments such as the President's Office, Academic Advisement, and Enrollment Services.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

* Collaborate with the AVP of Admissions and Housing to design and execute the annual student recruitment plan aligning with institutional enrollment goals. Additionally, develop and implement visitation plans for all Georgia State University campuses, working closely with the Assistant Director of the Welcome Center and the Assistant Director of Perimeter College recruitment.

* Travel to high schools, colleges, and regional recruiting events, representing the university and maintaining professional relationships with educators. Concurrently, create and monitor statistical reports to enhance recruitment strategies, analyzing feeder school reports, CRM data tracking, and application data.

* Direct, manage, and support daily operations of first-year, transfer, and international recruitment areas across both campuses. Simultaneously, supervise full-time staff, overseeing human resources activities, including hiring, training, performance appraisals, conflict resolution, and termination.

* Work with AVP to forecast new student admissions and enrollment goals.

* Oversee international admissions and recruitment efforts, designing and implementing effective strategies. Additionally, manage international agreements, exchanges, and vendor relationships.

* Collaborate with the Director of Processing and Technology to mine data to maximize funnel and yield conversion application communicate to prospective and admitted students using the Slate CRM system.

* Create and maintain complex reports and queries supporting recruitment initiatives and management decision-making. Furthermore, oversee the decision-making process for releasing freshmen admission decisions on a rolling basis.

* Work with existing GSU units, including but not limited to, Financial Aid, International Student Scholar Services, Study Abroad, Housing and Orientation, and Public Relations and Marketing Communications to ensure coordination of recruitment and enrollment processes.

* Work with the Business Manager to manage the scholarship awarding and release process.

* Perform the job duties and responsibilities of the AVP in their absence.

Qualifications :

Minimum Hiring Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree and six years of supervisory/management experience; or a combination of education and related experience.

Preferred Hiring Qualifications:

* Ability to demonstrate excellent, effective written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.

* Extensive experience in the recruitment of both domestic and international first-year and transfer students, as well as those in dual enrollment programs.

* Proven ability to strategically use data to maximize our recruitment efforts.

* Possess a working knowledge of the admissions process and university policies.

* Ability to develop strong working relationships with various constituencies, including students, parents, and educational partners.

* Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

* Familiarity with technologies, including online admission systems and client relationship systems such as Slate.

* Firm understanding of web technologies, applications, and analytics, including social networking and social media tools for recruitment.
