Program Coordinator - Capitol Campus

Requirements

Over the last several years Georgetown has expanded its footprint into the neighborhood near the Capitol, with undergraduates and graduate students joining the vibrant Law Center community. Georgetown's growing footprint in the shadow of the Capitol at the heart of Washington, D.C. offers students exceptional opportunities to work, learn, and serve in a city that shapes the world. The Capitol Campus student population includes undergraduate, graduate and law students.

The Program Coordinator will be part of a new team of Student Affairs professionals at the Capitol Campus and is responsible for overseeing student support and programming designed to promote a collaborative, integrated, community, create a sense of affinity to the campus and a sense of belonging for all capitol campus students. The Student Affairs office is a fast paced, student-centered environment. Student contact is extensive and substantive. Staff members work collaboratively within the office and with many other university-wide constituent groups including the Hilltop campus. Additional duties include, but are not limited to:
  • Support the overarching vision, mission, and strategic framework of Student Affairs at the Capitol Campus, assisting in creating the vision and building a shared community through developing, implementing, and assessing a broad range of programs and building environments.
  • Support, nurture, and encourage student growth, promoting health and well-being.
  • Work with staff in the Division of Student Affairs (DSA) at the Capitol Campus, the undergraduate and graduate school-based staff at the Capitol Campus, as well as DSA staff at the Hilltop Campus to support programming, organizational and leadership development, design and implement training in campus life and co-curricular learning experiences.
  • Directly advise and support student programming, designing and delivering the department's large scale events, programs, training, and initiatives.
  • Maintain high visibility and accessibility and initiate regular communications with the University community, including executive management, students, faculty and staff.


Work Interactions

This position reports to the Assistant Director and is a member of the Division of Student Affairs reporting to the Dean of Students. The Program Coordinator serves as a functional leader and educator for Student Affairs programs and services and as a resource for staff and students, supporting and promoting the spirit of Georgetown. This position works closely with the Student Engagement team within the Division of Student Affairs on the Hilltop Campus. The Program Coordinator collaborates with Capitol Campus partners, including within Mission and Ministry, academic units, and student services. This position will interact with Washington, DC partners, including those from community-based organizations, DC and federal governments, and District-based cultural institutions. Staff members are expected to exercise a high degree of responsibility and independent judgment and to work irregular and sometimes long hours.

Requirements and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree is required; Master's Degree is preferred
  • A minimum of 1-2 years of experience in student affairs, student formation, and/or student leadership development, and/or comparable experience
  • Flexibility in work schedule is required (to account for night and weekend coverage)
  • An understanding of Jesuit higher education is a plus
  • A knowledge of Washington, DC is a plus
  • Experience working with college students, familiarity with university culture, and working in and with diverse communities preferred

Pay Range:

The projected salary or hourly pay range for this position which represents the full range of anticipated compensation is:
$41,926.00 - $65,090.00

Compensation is determined by a number of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate's individual qualifications, experience, education, skills, and certifications, as well as the University's business needs and external factors.
