POSITION SUMMARY:

This a dual-role position responsible for the safe and timely delivery of goods to customers via tractor-trailer and the efficient handling of warehouse operations using material handling equipment. This role involves driving and maintaining assigned trucks, securing and delivering loads, and operating forklifts to stage, load, and unload products. The employee will work closely with dispatchers, management, and warehouse teams to plan routes, track deliveries, maintain equipment, and ensure compliance with all regulatory and company requirements while maintaining a clean and safe work environment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Essential Functions include but are not limited to:

* Truck Driver Responsibilities:



  • Safely operate a Class A tractor-trailer to deliver goods to customers, ensuring timely pickups and deliveries per scheduled routes.
  • Secure loads properly to ensure safety during transport and verify load accuracy before departure.
  • Complete pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the tractor and trailer, documenting findings in Vehicle Condition Reports (VCRs).
  • Operate electronic logs (E-logs) provided by the company and input macros into the automated system for each stage of the loading and unloading process.
  • Comply with all Federal, State, and local D.O.T regulations, including FMCSA requirements for size, weight, route designations, parking, and break periods.
  • Follow all posted speed limits and company policies, ensuring the truck is locked when not in use.
  • Document and log work/rest periods, miles driven, and retain fuel/toll receipts.
  • Communicate effectively with dispatch personnel, accepting assigned loads and documenting all load requirements.
  • Perform daily housekeeping, cleaning, and trash removal from the truck cab at the end of each shift.
  • Report equipment defects or safety issues immediately to ensure safe operation.
  • Check in with dispatch before leaving for the day and meet delivery schedules.


* Forklift Operator Responsibilities:



  • Safely operate sit-down forklifts and other material handling equipment to stage, load, and unload finished products and raw materials.
  • Prepare and load products onto trucks or railcars in a timely and safe manner.
  • Move products into warehouse inventory storage and transport waste or scrap to dumpsters as needed.
  • Conduct quality control checks to identify and report damaged products, completing damage reports for products, pallets, or other materials.
  • Perform daily forklift safety checks, preventive maintenance, and report any equipment issues.
  • Handle outbound and inbound inventory receiving processes.
  • Maintain warehouse cleanliness and organization, ensuring a safe work environment.
  • Operate within standard operating procedures (SOPs) and Job Safety Analysis (JSAs), locking out equipment when not in use.


* General Responsibilities:



  • Maintain a thankful, respectful, polite, and courteous attitude, providing professional service to customers, colleagues, and the general public.
  • Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and dispatch to ensure smooth operations.
  • Work variable hours Monday through Friday, with occasional weekend work as needed.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.



QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

* High School Diploma or GED (preferred), or equivalent combination of education and experience.

* Must be at least 25 years of age with a valid Class A Commercial Driver's License and a clean driving record.

* Minimum of 2 years of driving experience with no accidents, including experience with van and flatbed trailers.

* Ability to obtain and maintain forklift certification and applicable state certification for forklifts.

* 2+ years of forklift experience in a similar industry (clamp experience preferred).

* Must be registered with the FMCSA Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse and pass a pre-employment drug screen, random drug/alcohol tests, and a criminal history background check.

* Minimal computer skills required, with experience using electronic logs preferred.

* Good oral and written English communication skills and manual dexterity for operating machinery.

* Ability to read, interpret, and comply with safety rules, operations/procedure manuals, and maintenance instructions.

* Must reside within 50 miles of the domiciled terminal and/or work assignment.

* Ability to work independently or in a team setting under tight time constraints in a high-volume environment.

* Must pass a road test and have no lifting or movement restrictions.

* Stable employment history preferred.

* Must be authorized to work in the United States.
