ABOUT THIS ROLE

St. Michael's is hiring a Public Affairs Support Analyst to support a Department of Defense (DoD) client. As the Public Affairs Support Analyst, you will produce professional, high-quality Public Affairs (PA) communication products (news releases, fact sheets, messaging, point papers, written media responses, etc.) to communicate SOCNORTH's mission and publicly releasable actions and activities to the public and internal audiences. WHO YOU ARE



  • Active Top-Secret Clearance (with ability to obtain SCI).
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience within Special Operations units or Special Operations staffs conducting military operational planning in support of real-world operations, exercises, and investments with direct experience in Public Affairs or Civil Affairs.


PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES



  • Provide professional, high-quality Public Affairs (PA) communication products (news releases, fact sheets, messaging, point papers, written media responses, etc.) to communicate SOCNORTH's mission and publicly releasable actions and activities to the public and internal audiences.
  • Coordinate work and products with public affairs staff, SOCNORTH staff, subject matter experts, higher headquarters, and subordinate units as necessary to ensure comprehensive, accurate and in-context products.
  • Provide professional, high-quality PA plans products (communication plans, guidance, annexes, messaging, mission analysis, strategy, etc.) to align SOCNORTH with the communication efforts, policy and guidance of DoD, USNORTHCOM, USSOCOM, other CCMDs, USSOCOM components, US Government organizations and allies and partners.
  • Provide direct analysis, planning, and subject matter expertise in the areas of public affairs/public communication/information operations for the development of standardized processes and procedures that allow for the planning and integration of SOCNORTH PA and Communication Integration capabilities into deliberate and contingency plans, recognizing that the task requires the synchronization and participation of key command communication stakeholders.
  • Coordinate work and products with SOCNORTH staff, subject matter experts, higher headquarters and subordinate units as necessary to ensure comprehensive, accurate and in-context products. Products are intended to guide communication actions of SOCNORTH and its subordinate organizations.
  • Provide public affairs/public communication/information operations advice and counsel about Public Affairs matters and critical support for events and activities that enhance the Command's communication strategy and outreach. This advice and counsel shall be provided to SOCNORTH leaders and staff as required and directed.
  • Identify key themes, objectives, and capability gaps within assigned projects that could be addressed with PA capabilities to achieve SOCNORTH's objectives and effects.
  • Provide assigned planning, coordination, and execution of PA events during exercises, operations, and other activities as required.
  • Attend planning and developmental meetings to provide PA advice, determine requirements for PA products, and to coordinate developed or existing PA products in support of requirements. The Contractor attends these meetings as representative of the active-duty PA staff and will provide a summary or minutes of the meeting to the active-duty PA staff, along with any taskers and/or deadlines assigned within the meeting.
  • Assist SOCNORTH PA in monitoring, analyzing, assessing effectiveness of, and recommending adjustments to, approved messaging and strategies; and integrating PA and communication capabilities into current operations.
