JOB SUMMARY
UT Southwestern is seeking a skilled and experienced Graphic Sign Maker with one (1) year work experience, hospital or university environment sign making experience preferred; Adobe proficiency highly preferred. Works under general supervision to provide journeyman architectural graphic/sign maker skills for campus involving fabrication, installation, maintenance, and updating of campus signage. Responsible for making, maintaining, and updating campus signs.

Work Location: Dallas Campus

Shift Requirement: Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM. This position is 100% onsite, remote work not available.

    Prior experience in graphic/sign maker or equivalent preferred.

JOB DUTIES



  • Operates PC graphic drawing, databases, word processing, and spreadsheet programs to create and store signs, receive and send work orders, and generate signage reports.
  • Installs signage according to verbal instructions and requirements of work order to properly place signage in compliance with dimensions required by University and Federal guidelines.
  • Performs fabrication procedures by preparing, cutting, and processing materials using appropriate equipment needed for required signage.
  • Coordinates work requests with departments and Architectural/Engineering division to provide proper placement of door signs, directories, etc.
  • Prepares plans and specifications for signage projects including desk plates, doorplates, nametags, signs, etc., following University and departmental policies in order to accurately produce needed signage.
  • Organizes shop and develops procedures.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
