POSITION SUMMARY:

This role supports public relations and community engagement initiatives that help shape our brand presence and reputation within the community and the medical device industry. Reporting to the Director of Internal Communications and Engagement, the ideal candidate will execute public relations efforts that align with and advance our organizational goals. By helping promote our reputation as an employer of choice and an innovative leader in the medtech space, this position contributes to a cohesive "inside-out" communication approach-helping connect internal messaging with external outreach.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION:



  • Coordinate proactive media relations with national and local outlets, and liaise with educational institutions, industry groups, and local government leaders to represent our organization.
  • Support strategy and execute logistics for awards that position the company as an Employer of Choice and advance our reputation as a patient-centered MedTech leader.
  • Assist in planning and logistics for community relations activities that align with corporate objectives and enhance the brand, including hosting community partners and collaborating with local organizations, chambers of commerce, and advocacy groups.
  • Work cross-functionally with leadership and internal teams to ensure message consistency and strategic alignment across departments.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders to develop and oversee a press release process and manage a press release calendar.
  • Maintain, refine, and execute crisis communication protocols, working closely with stakeholders to ensure these protocols are understood and updated. Act as the primary media liaison as needed.
  • Develop media kits and branded content for hospitals, physicians, and social media outreach.
  • Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) for PR campaigns, media coverage and community engagement.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:



  • Bachelor's degree in Public Relations, Communications, Marketing, or a related field
  • 2 years of experience in public relations or a similar role
  • Proven expertise in media relations, crisis communication, and press release development
  • Excellent writing and communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and project management abilities
  • Expertise in creating content across multiple formats, including written, video, social media, and spoken presentations
  • Experience in community relations and partnership development preferred
  • Ability to travel up to 10%



PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:



  • Experience in the medical device or healthcare industry
  • Familiarity with media monitoring and analytics tools
  • Professional certification in PR or communications (e.g., APR)



OTHER REQUIREMENTS:



  • Ability to regularly walk, sit, or stand as needed
  • Ability to occasionally bend and push/pull as needed
  • Ability to pass pre-employment drug screen and background check
