Description
We are hiring a Maintenance Manager to lead the maintenance team at the Steelcase Grand Rapids campus. This individual will ensure our office environments are maintained in a safe, positive, and professional manner for employees and customers. Responsibilities include selecting, managing, negotiating, and leading a team to perform a defined scope of work and services necessary to maintain our facilities and properties effectively.
Who You Are:
You are an experienced facilities professional with deep technical expertise in building systems and infrastructure. You are skilled in identifying and resolving property and building issues through troubleshooting and sound decision-making. You possess strong financial acumen and the ability to effectively manage budgets. You have demonstrated leadership skills and are well versed in guiding a team and driving results.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • At least 5 years of overall experience in Facilities Management, Facilities Maintenance, Engineering, Real Estate, Construction Management or Property Management
  • Technical knowledge of building systems and infrastructure
  • Prior leadership experience
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, utilizing strong organization skills
  • Must be available for on-call after hours emergencies
Desired Skills and Experience:
  • Related certifications: CFM, FMP or SFP
  • Bachelor's Degree in Facilities Management, Architecture, Real Estate or Construction Management
What You Will Be Doing:
  • Manage and schedule all building repairs, both planned and unforeseen needs
  • Select, negotiate, manage and contract vendors to perform defined scope of work/services
  • Approve spending and release payment while ensuring the overall Facilities annual budget is being met
  • Own and manage the overall Facilities annual budget while ensuring the department meets financial performance and budget objectives
  • Administer and maintain the work order system, dashboard, and reporting for the department and determine appropriate priority and corrective actions for all maintenance service requests
  • Develop and execute an infrastructure investment strategy that aligns with our organization's long-term objectives
  • Staff training, performance management, career development, developing and monitoring departmental goals
  • Develop and manage small projects from development, scope, bid, award, execute and close out
  • Ensure the health, safety, cleanliness of the work environment
