Assistant Branch Manager - Illinois

Full-time | Logistics | Location - Grayslake IL
We're looking for a highly organized and proactive Assistant Warehouse Manager to join our team. In this role, you'll support the efficient operation of our distribution center, ensuring all receiving, put-away, picking, and shipping processes align with company standards for service and cost-effectiveness.

* Oversee and coordinate daily warehouse operations including receiving, inventory management, picking, and shipping.
* Ensure all activities follow established company procedures and performance standards.

* Demonstrate strong computer skills and proficiency in warehouse management systems.

* Maintain compliance with DOT regulations and HazMat shipping practices.
* Participate in operations improvement initiatives and problem-solving meetings (e.g., IDEA submissions).
* Assist in training and certifying team members on material handling equipment as needed.
* Lead or contribute to team meetings focused on performance metrics and continuous improvement.
* Ensure timely completion of stock alerts, when applicable.
* Support the DC Manager in preparing work schedules, assigning tasks, and ensuring accuracy and efficiency in daily operations.
* Aid in the onboarding and ongoing training of warehouse team members.

* High school diploma or GED required.
* Experience with A/S400 and Microsoft Excel.
* Working knowledge of OSHA regulations and warehouse safety protocols.

* Familiarity with alarm systems and general facility security practices.

* Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to navigate complex situations using limited guidelines.
* Experience with daily management systems and continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean, 5S, or Six Sigma.
