Job Overview
We have an opportunity for a hands-on Accounting Manager to join our talented Finance team. As the lead of the GL department, you will be primarily overseeing the timely preparation of the financial close and reports. You will plan, direct, assist, and coordinate all GL functions including but not limited to annual audit, ICS, AP, cash receipts, GL, financial reporting, annual budget, payroll, tax reporting and compliance. Responsibilities
Essential Job Duties and Functions:
- Lead the development and scaling of a high-performing team, cultivating a data-driven culture, driving change and automation, ensuring transparency, and maintaining a strong focus on meeting the needs of both internal and external customers
- Establish and maintain strong internal financial controls to ensure accurate reporting
- Responsible for transaction accuracy, compliance, and ensuring legal and regulatory compliance, including FAR and GAAP, regarding all accounting functions
- Assist with the preparation of annual indirect rate budgets, provide reporting, and support the development of forecasts
- Responsible for general ledger and balance sheet management
- Manage audits from external agencies, including DCAA, IRS, outside CPA firms, regulatory agencies, and Incurred Cost Submissions
- Oversee the timely submission of all federal, state, and local tax filing requirements, ensuring strict compliance with regulations. Collaborate with and support tax
- Lead, perform, and ensure accuracy and consistency with month-end closing activities, including reviewing journal entries, reconciling accounts, analyzing financial data, consolidating, and recognizing revenue to ensure accuracy and completeness
- Reconcile and maintain cost pools
- Collaborate with other departments including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, and Projects Controls
- Identify and implement improvements in accounting processes to increase efficiency and accuracy
- Other related duties as assigned.

Job Requirements
Mandatory:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
- At least 6-10 years progressively responsible management positions within the government contracting industry.
- Expertise with cost pool allocations.
- Excellent interpersonal and coaching skills.
- Intermediate to Expert level proficiency with Microsoft Excel required.
- Working knowledge of GAAP, working knowledge of government contracting rules and regulations, and Cost Accounting Standards a plus.
- High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.
- Outstanding accounting skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Developed problem-solving and analytical abilities.
- Ability to multi-task and manage time accordingly to meet deadlines.
- Ability to work independently.
- Excellent presentation & communication skills in both oral and written form.
- Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment background check and drug test.
Preferred:
- CPA or CMA Preferred.
- Experience with Lawson and Oracle Fusion.
Working Conditions:
- Chugach Government Solutions' Finance team has a fast-paced multi-tasking customer service-oriented office environment requiring a high degree of efficient and effective performance. Adaptability regarding schedule and task changes is necessary to accommodate changing priorities. Overtime may be required.
Physical Requirements:
- This position requires a lot of sitting as well as the ability to crouch, bend, and lift items up to 25lbs.
