The Department of Radiology is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to support the Pediatric Vascular and Interventional Radiology and Diagnostic Radiology Services located in Milwaukee, Wisconsin at Children's Wisconsin, and serving our Specialty Clinics including Central and North East Wisconsin.

The Department of Radiology prides itself on the delivery of world-class diagnostic and interventional radiology services. We use state-of-the-art imaging equipment, and our faculty radiologists are national leaders in the development and use of new imaging technologies.

The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) works as a member of a multidisciplinary health care team who will contribute to excellence in program administration, patient care, patient safety, research, quality improvement, and teaching.

The Ideal Candidate wants to be part of a thriving and very collaborative academic practice at the Medical College of Wisconsin (MCW). Areas of responsibility will include, but not be limited to providing direct patient care in both a hospital and clinic setting.

In this role you will:

• Collaborates with interdisciplinary health care teams in diagnosis and treatment of conditions requiring image guided radiological intervention and diagnostic procedures in a blended environment as a member of the Pediatric Vascular and Interventional Radiology and Diagnostic Radiology Services.
• Primarily responsible for Coordination of Care including follow up imaging, labs, and clinic visits.

Core Advanced Practice Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive histories and physical exams, identifies normal and abnormal findings, including physical, cognitive, and psychosocial status.
• Order, perform, and interpret screening and diagnostic procedures and tests, and appropriately communicates and documents information
• Write accurate and timely progress notes, procedure notes, and/or admission and transfer orders
• Develop pharmaceutical and non-pharmaceutical treatment plans.
• Monitor effectiveness of plan of care
• Educate patients on disease and treatment plans.
• Perform procedures as trained and appropriately credentialed.
• Document within the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and completes other necessary documents.
• Collaborate and/or consults with physicians and other health care providers as appropriate.
• Educates, counsels, and assists patients and families regarding current health problems, health maintenance activities and preventive behaviors.
• Attend required training and meets key regulatory requirements, including those of the privileging institution, CMS, and the Joint Commission.

• Acquires information on the most current development and trends in the Physician Assistant field and/or Nurse Practitioner field, through educational programs, in-services, professional associates, and current literature.

Preferred Schedule

Scheduling flexibility required to provide for an appropriate level of patient care coverage. The position will require evening, overnight and weekend coverage based on staffing and clinical needs. Addtionally, the position may require travel to provide clinical support for our Care Closer to Home sites including but not limited to New Berlin, Mequon and future locations in the Appleton region.

Children's Wisconsin and Children's Specialty Group

Children's Wisconsin is an independent health care system dedicated solely to the health and well-being of children. The hospital, with locations in Milwaukee and Northeast Wisconsin, is recognized as one of the leading pediatric health care centers in the United States. Children's Wisconsin provides primary care, urgent care, emergency care, specialty care, mental and behavioral health services, community health services, foster and adoption services, child advocacy services and health insurance plans. Each year, the Children's Wisconsin team has more than 6.5 million touchpoints with kids and families through medical care, advocacy, research and education. • Wisconsin RN license
• Wisconsin Advance Practice Nurse Prescriber License
• Certification as Advance Practice Nurse
• Certification as (or eligible for) Advance Practice Nurse (Clinical Nurse Specialist or Nurse Practitioner)
• DEA Certification
• Certification as Acute Care Nurse Practitioner or Clinical Nurse Specialist is preferred.
• CPR certification required.

Physician Assistant

• Wisconsin PA license
• Certification by NCCPA
• DEA Certification
• CPR certification required.
• ACLS Certification may be required depending upon placement.
• CITI certification must be obtained within 90 days of hire
